The Eucalyptus

Excellent food! We had a tasting meal for two and it was varied and delicious and definitely satisfying. Dishes that combine freshness, depth, and sophistication in a good way. Some of them felt like a hug. Courteous and very efficient service. Good and fun cocktails. It was wow.

We had a very disappointing dining experience overall. We arrived at our reservation time and were seated promptly, but after menus were placed on the table there was no greeting, explanation, or check-in from the server. My wife and I reviewed the menu quickly and were ready to order almost immediately — two glasses of wine, the cauliflower appetizer, the sfeeha (meat and greens on a thin pastry crust), followed by a steak and maklubba (chicken and rice). Despite the restaurant not being busy, it took roughly 20 minutes before anyone came to take our order or brought us water. During that wait, what appeared to be the manager came over asked if we had ordered (we said No one had even come to our table) brought complimentary bread and small shot glasses of soup, which were tasty and appreciated. The appetizers were the best part of the meal. The sfeeha was flavorful and well prepared. The cauliflower was also good, though overly drenched in tahini for my taste. Unfortunately, the main courses were terrible. My steak, ordered medium-rare, arrived extremely undercooked — closer to blue/raw and cold on the outside. My wife’s chicken was overcooked and dry. After several minutes of unsuccessfully trying to get our server’s attention, I stood up and spoke directly with the manager. My steak was taken back and re-cooked. At that point, the experience had already fallen apart. Service remained inattentive, and the quality of the main dishes did not justify continuing the meal. The final straw was that we could not get our server to bring the check and ultimately had to flag down a different waiter just to close out our tab so we could leave. There is potential here, as some of the food was enjoyable, but the service was disorganized and inattentive, and the execution of the main courses was poor. Unfortunately, this was not a dining experience we would repeat.

Very nice place. A Jerusalem resraurant that is a must go in the city landscape. Great food. Great service. And always pleased to see the Chef Moshe Basson around giving explanations.

The portions are very small, the taste is mediocre and doesn't even come close to street restaurants. The price is expensive.

Authentic and incredibly delicious Jerusalem food A place to return to

Gorgeous little restaurant just outside the walls of the old city ofJerusalem. If you can, I suggest to dine outside, on the tables dispatched along the stairs of Felt Street. The food is really amazing, the staff is friendly and the atmosphere fantastic.

Delicious food, authentic recipes and excellent service. Every shekel is worth it!

Great food. We ordered the spicy meze and mixed grill meat plates. Great Israeli wines. Will definitely come back next time in Jerusalem
