Maui Seaside Hotel

Our experience was good.

If you’re booking online through a package be sure to look into hidden fees such as $25 parking a day and $400 for amenities.

Old, no updates

Do not stay here! Beginning with the pros: next to the ocean (great views), spectacular pool area, hotel near the airport, has an airport shuttle, and the cleaners do a very thorough job. Cons: staff is incredibly rude (other than one person I spoke to my entire week stay named Cary, who was actually helpful). When I checked in, I showed the staff that they are a part of the Delta VIP Access program, which provides a free room upgrade (if available) and late check out at no charge. The staff advised me they do not allow free upgrades and do not honor the VIP Access rewards. She then went on to explain that if I wanted an upgrade, I could pay an extra $50 per night (plus tax). The area is convenient being close to the airport and many local shops. However, the surrounding area is filled with homeless and I would never recommend walking anywhere if you don't absolutely need to. The hotel is also near major highways, which is great. But it also means loud motorcycles and cars all hours of the day, even when trying to sleep. If you don't pay for an upgraded room, you are placed in a very dated and disgusting (smells like mold) probably not even up to code room. That's already after paying a ridiculous high price for the room itself. When it comes to "amenities" everything comes with a price tag. They charge $25 per night for parking, and much of the time it's hard to find a place to park at all. They also have a $25 per night amenity fee, which gives you access to the pool, towels, filtered water etc. But if you actually want to use the pool, you have to "check-out" a towel, which will cost you another $25 if you don't return it to the front desk. Also, they have cabanas you can "rent" by the pool. But In order to use it, they require you to leave a review for them on Trip Advisor! After all the extra fees, you are much better off staying somewhere a little more expensive, that at least provides the amenities mentioned above at no extra cost. Even a Motel 6 is nicer!

I stayed here for four nights and it was amazing. The service is incredible, rooms are so nice, and the beach was perfect.

Motel grade rooms for resort prices. Also i Harbor-side is more accurate. At least the staff is nice enough and location convenient for one night but not a vacation destination.

The Maui Seaside Hotel is a renovated older downtown Maui hotel. It is located just 3 miles from the airport. The lobby is open air, the pool is nice and offers complimentary cabanas. There is a movie night behind the lobby and games for both kids and adults by the pool. They are renovating the guest rooms ( which is where we stayed room 1001) and they are beautiful done in a contemporary theme. Parking is free and on site. The lobby offers an ATM machine, water station, hospitality room, computer and printer for its guests. If you have a late flight, they can store your luggage and you can continue to enjoy the amenities. The front desk staff is friendly and helpful. The hotel has a small beach on the waterfront.

My room was comfortable. Met my needs. The staff was excellent. Service was excellent. Pool, yard games, on-site laundry. Private beach. Attached restaurant with delicious meals, offers discount to hotel guests.
