Island Guesthouse & Motel

We had a lovely stay here recently. Exactly as described and shown in pictures. Staff were so sweet, personable, and helpful. Felt like a nice home away from home. Comfy beds, squeaky clean, friendly and helpful, and we loved the location being in Manteo and close enough to walk to downtown area. Much better, in our opinion, than staying on the busy commercial strips of OBX.

I am absolutely a hotel snob, so I was worried when the word motel was in the title of this place. Man was I wrong!!! This motel is beautiful! Very very clean and the service was top rate! I would absolutely recommend this place to anyone. We stayed in the First Flight Room in the guest house. It sleeps 3 people. My only suggestion was it needs blackout curtains to make the room dark. Otherwise no notes, 10 out of 10.

The Guesthouse is quaint and has nicely-appointed rooms, most around a little courtyard in an old motel style. The staff members were helpful and friendly. It is located on a main drag quite close to the historic center of Manteo. I recommend this hotel!

Another great stay. This is the second time and both have been easy and enjoyable. The staff is extremely kind and good at what they do. The rooms are clean, the showers are clean and have strong pressure with almost instant hot water. The beds are comfortable and there is good natural light through multiple windows. I’ll certainly be back.

What a awesome stay... The room was great and so clean"" the bedding was really comfy and plenty of pillows which I really appreciate! Love that the rooms are off the road.. so nicely decorated and the fire pit area is a great place to chill after dark.. the front desk ( Tara & Amanda) is so friendly and make you feel right at home"" best place on the Outer Banks to stay for sure!! ☺️ !⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Clean and neat. Service was great. Would have been five stars. The room in the house was the last room available. Clean however small and no chairs to sit. One full bed and a twin was all the room had. Not sure about the other rooms. We would recommend this inn for sure. Just keep in mind that the three rooms in the home are truly bedroom style.

Excellent service and beautiful rooms for a fair price. Island Guesthouse & Motel are the perfect place and location for your OBX vacation. I highly recommend Island Guesthouse & Motel, especially for travelers with pets.

We decided on a spur of the moment trip to Manteo for a few days and found the affordable and highly rated Island Guest House. Called and spoke with Brie who was very helpful and informative about the property. The good vibe continues when we met Tara, the manager who personally showed us a super clean very nice double bed room decorated in a cool island style. You can't help but start the de-stressing process. So if you are looking for a quiet getaway within walking distance to the Manteo Waterfront with some good karma, I highly recommend the Island Guest House. Thanks Tara and team for a great experience!
