La Quinta Inn & Suites by Wyndham Norfolk

The front desk lady was absolutely horrible! So rude, shook her head when we asked to switch rooms, like it was too much work. The reason we wanted to switch was due to both of our boys who are in the military, were allowed to stay and we didn't know until last minute. We had a king room and needed a 2 queen room. I told her she can just cancel our reservation and we could go to the hotel across the street. All the sudden her nasty attitude changed. The first room (221) smelled like cigarette smoke heavily! The room we were moved to (222) had mold in the bathroom all around the faucet and the tub was dirty. Maybe hire people who are kind and love their job instead of showing up for a paycheck and treating guests horribly. I will never stay at a LaQuinta again.

Decent spot, amenities could be better and the service could improve but overall not too bad. They only give u tiny bar of soap and no shampoo or conditioner, so bring your own if you decide to stay here, but what can you expect from a $100 a night lol.

Everyone there was so nice from the cleaning staff to the front desk. The rooms were nice and clean and breakfast is always on point. Highly recommend! The only thing you need to be careful about is the people outside breaking into your car and stealing all of your bank cards 😤

Entire lobby , hallway , elevators and second floor smelled of weed and cigarettes. Staff were not the most welcoming and during morning checkouts nobody was at the desk for an hour plus. The room I had was thankfully clean but the room next to us was absolutely smoking. I know it’s difficult to catch but considering the main areas smelled it’s something that has become tolerated.

I will never, ever stay at this hotel or recommend anyone else stay. We were told there was no password for the WiFi however we couldn’t get logged in. When we arrived at our room it had a weird smell. It smelled like dirty wet carpet. The smell remained even after I sprayed deodorizer. There was no remote for the tv. When I inquired at the front desk, the two clerks on duty started bashing the owner instead of being professional and address my issue. One clerk told me there was nothing she could do about the WiFi, she said it was working for her and that she was connected and watching TV on her phone. They told me there were no other rooms available, so I asked about getting a cheaper rate. I was told I could speak with the general manager when they come in at 5am. Eventually they found a remote but the volume control didn’t work. Again, I’ll never stay at this hotel ever again. I was only there for 1 night.

We always enjoy coming here. Although this time there was a few times I was woke up by a dog bark but other than that it was great. One of your staff Larry at the front desk was amazing he was so joyful and considerate nice nice man. Was happy to see him the next morning in the kitchen he is a all around good worker

This place is a nightmare from the moment I walk through the doors all the way to my room the whole dam building smelt like weed from the lobby all the way to and in my room it was so bad the smell woke me up at 4am in the morning it's like the whole building was smoking weed I wouldn't recommend anyone to this hotel and everyone that's on here saying this hotel is good stop playing im going to call OSHA on this place it's too nasty and not healthy to stay there

My room was not clean when I arrived after a long day of travel and there were no other rooms available. It was beyond just needing sheets changed, there was some sort of powder all over the carpet. I assume it was to try and absorb the smell of wet dog and vomit in the room. The key card wouldn’t open the door and originally the manager thought it was just an issue with the card programmer, but when their key opened it and they saw the state of the room they realized the room had been locked out of the system since it was not available. There were no other rooms available, so I was left looking for a new hotel at 2 AM. The young man working the front desk was very apologetic and helpful with trying to locate a new hotel. The overall condition of the hotel seemed OK, and it was in a good location. Mine may have been a one-off situation, but it was definitely frustrating.
