The Woods Camping Resort

What a unique place in the middle of nature for us to be free and experience lgbt fun with no reservations. We haven’t stayed overnight yet but there are a ton of options for staying and hands down Illumination weekend is the best event there is. There activities are fun and inclusive for all ages and I don’t feel like I won’t fit in. All the of the staff is excellent and the permanent campers are so friendly.

This is an updated review after visiting The Woods for several years. I booked a cabin for two weekends this year, (as I do every year). However, when I arrived, I was told that my reservations were only for campsites, not cabins. I explained that I had specifically filtered the reservation system for cabins and that I was confident I had not intentionally booked campsites. This appeared to be a system error, especially since it happened with two separate reservations and I have booked cabins here in previous years without this issue. Unfortunately, the staff repeatedly insisted that I had made the mistake and refused to seriously consider the possibility of a system error. They also immediately refused to discuss a refund. They were eventually able to place me in a cabin for one night, but charged an additional $200. I was then told it would cost another $230 for two additional nights if I wanted to remain in that cabin. A cabin that had typically cost around $250 in previous years would now have cost over $600. That is unreasonable. I understand that system errors can happen. What I found unacceptable was the staff’s refusal to acknowledge the possibility of an error, their unwillingness to offer a reasonable solution, and the additional charges imposed despite the circumstances. The experience felt unfair, unprofessional, and abusive. After years of going to The Woods, I no longer recommend this place. There are better options available.

I’ve been coming to The Woods Camping Resort for over 6 years now, and it has truly become one of my favorite places. It feels like a true home away from home where I’ve made so many wonderful friends over the years. The Woods offers the perfect blend of relaxation and fun. The facilities are immaculate very well-maintained grounds. Whether I’m enjoying the clothing-optional vibe, participating in fun events and activities, or just chilling by the water with good company, there’s always a great energy here. The staff is genuinely friendly and welcoming, the community is diverse and inclusive, and the overall atmosphere makes it easy to connect with people. 🌲🏕️🏳️‍🌈

Incredibly loud music late into the night made it impossible to sleep. I have sciatica and needed rest

Best place ever

Been coming here for years with family and now my adult grandkids. Couldn't ask for anything better. We definitely recommend and wouldn't go nowhere else
