Penn's View Hotel
Visitors frequently praise the Penn's View Hotel for its charming boutique feel, excellent Old Town location within walking distance of historical sites and restaurants, and friendly, accommodating staff. However, some guests have noted that the hotel is made up of older buildings and may not be ideal for families due to luggage and stroller accessibility issues, with one reviewer mentioning a specific front desk employee who seemed unengaged.

One of the most delightful & incredibly clean hotels in a lively & energetic area rich with: history & things to do! A friendly, charasmatic, & helpful staff will make your stay as easy & relaxing as possible. There's also a restaurant & gym located on-site to make your stay more comfortable & suitable to core values.
Comfortable and well run small hotel in a great location for walking Old City to Center City and the waterfront. Breakfast is a nice muffin and coffee.
I paid for a room in this hotel 5 weeks before check-in and specifically asked for a quiet room. However the room they gave (406) had continuous loud humming/buzzing noise from external air-conditioning units directly outside the window, making it impossible to sleep. In addition, there was no hot or warm water in the room. I couldn't take a shower when I arrived and in the following morning. What's the use of an hotel if you can't get washed or sleep? I didn't pay for no shower and no sleep! They changed my room the following day but they wasted my time and money , on the other hand, the new room in the front was noisy too because of the highway nearby. This is an old building without noise isolation. I sent two emails to them about these problems but didn't get a response. It was a mistake to choose that hotel. I wouldn't recommend there unless you have hearing problems or you are a deep sleeper.
What a great hotel! The staff was very helpful and it was awesome that a former Army Ranger was working the front desk when we came in. It was a pleasure to meet him. We had brunch at the in house restaurant and it was very good. Service was great. The hotel is older but very nice, we had a large room with a fireplace. It is close to the highway but there was hardly any road noise at all and our room faced the highway. You can see Jersey from the hotel which was kinda cool. The location was great. Only a 10min walk from all of the historical sites and all kinds of shops and restaurants.
Very disturbed and disappointed. The bald young man at the front said check in was 3pm but I had arranged for an earlier check in but no one accommodated. We were told to wait and to come back in an hour. We did so and when we returned we were told that the room was still not ready. We weren’t updated or anything and ended up waiting another hour. Room was still dirty and had a smoke/marijuana odor. Very trashy and low class establishment that I will never bring my family to again. It was my daughters birthday and she was extremely disappointed. And the bald young man seemed very unpleasant doing his job and checking on the room.
Big thanks to Robert at the desk for all of your hospitality, especially with all of the suitcases in the rain. The hotel is awesome and Robert's hospitality put it over the top. We'll be back regularly.
