Spent New Years at Hostel Fish Seattle, an amazing experience, great room, location stellar, and the staff is amazing

Very nice staff. Clean showers, comfy bed. Looking forward to visiting again.

Loved the room (though the blinds could have been better, streetlight kept it bright). However, I am not as happy about the RIDICULOUSLY loud bar across the street at midnight, though that noise may have been related to MemorialDay weekend. Did not sleep well on Saturday night because if the noise.

The owner thomas was extremely hostile towards me and had a confrontational disposition toward me when I asked if the bathroom could be cleaned and if I could use another washer because the laundry room had a broken one at the time. The location was close to my work which was the only positive thing about this place

Reception lady was super helpful and friendly. Super clean rooms, close to downtown. Welcoming atmosphere and complimentary towels!

Great experience overall. Before moving in, I was concerned about: homelessness around the hostel, loud music, wifi, and locker safety. After staying here, none of these were a huge issue. There were no homeless people right around the hostel. I only saw some on 3rd Street, not on 2nd Street where the hostel is located. The music was also not a problem. I stayed on the 3rd floor and could not hear it in my room; I only noticed it near the stairwell, not even in the hallway. It seemed similar on the 2nd floor, so I would guess the rooms are generally quiet. People were also respectful of the 10 PM quiet hours. WIFI worked fine. I was able to reply to email and load videos most of the time, although it was occasionally very slow. I had full cell signal expect the underground, so just switched to mobile data when needed. Pros: 1. The toilet and shower are super clean. The shower system was great, with strong water pressure and hot water coming quickly. There were hangers as well. 2. The location is excellent, 4min to buses stop and lots of Lime bikes nearby. 3. The kitchen was also great. I brought seafood from downtown and cooked it there. People were respectful of others’ food, and I had no problem leaving my food in the kitchen. Coffee is also available every morning if needed. 4. The front desk staff were very Friendly. 5 Great price Cons: 1. There are no window screens, so a few flies came in during the day. However, I visited in mid-May and the weather was still cool, the flies disappeared at night. 2. There is no air conditioning, but Seattle was not hot at all in mid-May, so this was not an issue for me. 3. If you want to lock the lockers, you could bring your own or buy a lock at the front desk for $8. I hope they can offer lock rentals in the future. That said, the front desk help me to kept most of my luggage in the storage room, so it worked out fine. Overall, I had a very comfortable stay and would recommend this hostel.

One of the better hotels I've stayed at. Reasonably comfortable beds. Decent accommodations. But the real reason to stay here is the location. Being a 10 minute walk from Pike Place made for a fantastic experience. It's also in a pretty lively bar district and the Tai place next door was open until midnight or later all week long. The only negative thing I have to say is that the time are a bit stuffy. No central air means that the windows stayed open pretty much all the time.

Inexpensive hostel. Room is a shared dormatory. When visiting Seattle again will be happy to stay here in the future.

We stayed for 5 nights in a 4-bed female only dorm. Really great location, walking distance to all the major tourist areas. The surrounding streets can be kind of sketchy at night but the specific block that the hostel is on is very lively with multiple restaurants and bars, so it feels very safe at night. The hostel was very clean in general, especially the bathrooms, and it didn't get too rowdy/loud at night which was great. Staff were super helpful and kind as well. Overall a great option if you want to explore Seattle and stay somewhere that's pretty cheap but still clean and safe. A couple minor issues/suggestions for the rooms: - The windows don't have screens, so if you want some fresh air you'll have to deal with bugs and flies (it was very hot when we visited so we had to sleep with the windows open) - The lockers under the beds were missing parts of the latch and didn't actually lock, which we didn't realize until later. Ours was also kind of misaligned, so we had to slam it shut which kept waking up the other people in the room. - It was nice that there was a sink in the room, would be nice to have soap and paper towels in the room too.
