LGBT Centre Mongolia is the most important institution in Mongolian LGBTQ+ life — the civil society organisation that has driven advocacy, provided healthcare and legal support, and organised Ulaanbaatar Pride since the organisation's founding in the early 2000s. The Centre's physical premises in the Sukhbaatar district function as both a professional advocacy organisation and a community social space: events, workshops, support group meetings, and social evenings are programmed throughout the year. For LGBTQ+ visitors to Ulaanbaatar, the Centre is the essential first contact — staff can provide information on current venue recommendations, community events, and the practical social context that commercial listings cannot convey. The Centre organises Ulaanbaatar Pride each year (typically August or September), the only formal Pride event in Central Asia, and maintains relationships with international LGBTQ+ organisations and embassies that provide a degree of institutional protection for its work. Community evenings hosted at the Centre premises are among the most authentic entry points into Mongolian LGBTQ+ life available to international visitors. Contact in advance through the Centre's Facebook page to learn about current programming.
