Miami has a well-established gay scene centred on South Beach — Wynwood Road, Lincoln Road, and the Wilton Manors area in Fort Lauderdale are all within range. Here's where people meet, outdoors and in.
12th Street Beach
The most established gay beach spot in Miami Beach — the stretch of Ocean Drive at 12th Street has been the go-to since the 1980s. A relaxed, diverse crowd, always active in daylight hours. Towel space is competitive on weekends. Easy to reach by South Beach Local bus or a short walk from many hotels.
Haulover Beach Park
Between Sunny Isles Beach and Bal Harbour — the park has a clothing-optional section that's been popular with gay visitors for years. Open sunrise to sunset, paid parking. More relaxed and spread out than 12th Street; different crowd, more nudist-oriented.
Flamingo Park
A 36-acre park in Miami Beach's South of Fifth neighbourhood. The quiet sections near the walking paths and restroom facilities see evening activity. The park's sheer size means there's natural privacy in the less-used corners.
Morningside Park
On Miami's Upper East Side — a waterfront park with trails along the water offering secluded sections. Different scene from South Beach; more local, less tourist-oriented.
