Pose is a gay dance club on the 4th floor of the Future Center (未来中心) on Dongfeng Road in Chengdu's Chenghua District. Listed in Chinese-language gay guides, it programmes drag nights, K-pop sets and go-go performances for a young, style-conscious crowd, and is one of the anchors of the city's contemporary gay nightlife alongside the Butterfly. Chengdu's reputation as China's most LGBTQ+-friendly city rests on visible, community-run venues like this one, which are busy at weekends. Note that the door policy can be selective and the club is oriented toward a local Mandarin-speaking crowd; a few visitors have reported an inconsistent welcome, so arriving with local friends helps. Music runs late and the room is at its best after midnight.
