Maxwell Onsen

Maxwell Onsen is a Japanese-style onsen for gay men at 173/3-5 Surawong Road in Bang Rak, about an eight-minute walk from BTS Chong Nonsi and close to the Silom gay bars. It belongs to the same operator as Wellmax Saunatainment in nearby Wall Street Tower, and is the calmer of the two. The wet area has hot and cold mineral pools, a pine sauna, a bergamot steam room and a jacuzzi. The lower level has a Himalayan salt room, a relaxation area and a dining area. Upper floors have private rooms, lounge chairs and massage chairs. The steam and sauna rooms also work as cruising space. Guests wear shorts, a kimono and slippers outside the wet areas, where nudity is normal. Lockers use a two-locker system that staff explain at check-in. Entry is a flat 600 THB. Keep the receipt, because it is exchanged for a free main course; ice cream, coffee and dessert are also included. Payment is cash or PromptPay only, with no cards. Hours are Monday to Friday 14:00-00:00 and Saturday and Sunday 12:00-00:00, and may change on Thai public holidays. The operator says it admits adults up to 65, citing Ministry of Health guidance for steam and sauna use, while Wellmax is limited to men aged 20-55. Google reviewers (around 4.6 from 300 reviews in late 2026) praise the cleanliness and food. Some mention weak shower pressure.
