It's located in the pedestrian zone but easily accessible by car.

Overall, a good hotel where you feel comfortable. The central location and the quiet refrigerator in the room are definite pluses. Everything else is clean and well-maintained. My main criticism is that as a guest, you can tell that corners are being cut everywhere. Saving money is fine in principle, but when you feel patronized, it's unacceptable. The breakfast plates are very small. I understand that with larger plates, many guests don't finish their food and tend to eat more. However, this is cutting corners at the expense of the guest. The plates are too small, and everything falls off. The breakfast buffet is good and meets international standards. However, bacon is missing. Otherwise, there's a wide selection. A robot drives around to empty the dirty dishes. It's a nice little gimmick. As a suggestion, the robot's voice could be changed to a more natural tone. It's only one sentence. Surely someone with a pleasant voice could record it. Then it would be more appealing. The self-service check-in kiosk at reception is also very commendable. It saves time. There aren't many pillows to choose from in the room. I would like pillows with different firmness levels. Also, please provide more towels. Wi-Fi: Is an account required for Wi-Fi? Why? I want to connect to the Wi-Fi within seconds and not create any accounts. Room number, guest name, or Wi-Fi password, and that's it. That's why I don't create accounts and therefore used mobile data. And now the major point of criticism regarding the perceived paternalism. Room cleaning is only upon request. It's generally okay not to have the room cleaned every day. In fact, I often prefer it that way. However, an opt-out option or a question at the check-in kiosk asking if cleaning is desired would be significantly better. After all, this is a high-end hotel. One expects the room to be cleaned as a matter of course, and that this is waived only upon request or for sustainability reasons. Opt-in cleaning feels like cutting corners at the customer's expense. At these hotel prices, it's unacceptable. That alone warrants a one-star deduction. The other star is deducted for all the other points of criticism.

A fantastic hotel all around! A friendly welcome and a really nice chat – something you rarely experience in other hotels these days. The rooms are perfectly designed and practical, and just steps from Dortmund's main train station and the bus to the airport. What more could you want? I'll definitely be back. Very disappointing experience. Upon arrival, I was told by the receptionist that the parking lot was full. However, I could clearly see several available parking spaces. When I questioned this, I was informed that a parking space would cost €25. This directly contradicted the information I had received when I called the hotel beforehand and was told that parking was free of charge. The receptionist also insisted that the payment had to be made in cash, which I found highly inappropriate and refused to do. Guests were supposedly entitled to a complimentary public transportation ticket, but when I asked for one, I was simply told that they had run out. The overall attitude of the reception staff was unprofessional and unwelcoming. Not a single member of staff greeted guests or made any effort to provide a warm welcome. Instead, it felt as though guests were interrupting private conversations among the employees. Rather than receiving assistance, you are directed to use a self-service check-in machine. The following day, I spoke with a female receptionist who was significantly more helpful and professional, proving that good service was possible. Unfortunately, this was the exception rather than the rule. The room design was also problematic. The bathroom walls are made of transparent glass, offering virtually no privacy. This is particularly unsuitable for business travelers or anyone sharing a room with a colleague, friend, or someone they do not know well. The only positive aspect of this hotel is its central location, which is convenient and close to most attractions. However, the poor service, misleading information, and lack of professionalism at reception overshadow any benefit of the location. I would not choose to stay here again.

My stay at the IntercityHotel Dortmund was absolutely fantastic. I received a very friendly and warm welcome right from check-in. The staff were incredibly courteous, attentive, and always ready to help throughout my stay. You truly feel welcome here. The room was very clean, modern, and furnished with great attention to detail. The tasteful decor and pleasant atmosphere immediately made me feel at ease. I was particularly impressed by how well-maintained and tidy everything was. The breakfast was also excellent. The selection was varied, fresh, and of high quality. There was something for everyone, and it was the perfect start to the day. Overall, the IntercityHotel Dortmund impressed me greatly. The excellent service, the clean and comfortable rooms, and the outstanding breakfast make this hotel a clear recommendation. I would gladly return!

Excellent hotel, highly recommended. Hygiene and friendliness were top-notch! Mr. Da Silva helped us with everything we needed; he was a truly outstanding man. The rooms are large and clean. The doors and walls are soundproof. We stayed for two nights and felt very comfortable. 👍🏻

I stayed at the IntercityHotel Dortmund for a long weekend and I must say, I felt completely at ease. The friendly welcome, the courteous and kind staff, and the lovely room made my stay an unforgettable experience. Here, the guest truly is king. The hotel itself is fine – like all Intercity hotels. Clean, friendly reception, quiet, modern rooms – no complaints there. However, the immediate surroundings are not inviting: we frequently noticed beggars, drunks, and strange characters on Friday evening. This may be the case at many main train stations, but here in Dortmund it seems particularly bad. Walking from the station to the hotel (only 5 minutes) involves climbing a wide staircase, which could be problematic for older people with heavy suitcases.
