GOSHH (Gender Orientation Sexual Health HIV)

I have always received empathetic, professional, and sensitive care from the entire GOSHH team. Both the sexual health services and mental health support are excellent. The social dynamics and support for the LGBT+ community are unique. I love attending the Coffee Meetups. Thank you to each and every member of this organization.

Have to give a 1 star review due to events that happened during September in this location. Certain groups were invited to events here who showed risk to the public and should not have been given state sponsored meetings without community consultation. These sort of behaviour is disappointing from a limerick group. Especially scheduling the events late in the evening. If I could give lower than 1 star I would. Do not use this establishment under any capacity. It may pose a risk. I note again. This is a state sponsored organisation. Public consultation should be done for all actions concerning risky groups.

I am a transgender woman who went to GOSHH around 2 years ago and this was my experience… When I went there, I met with a support worker to help me with my transition/gender issues. Sadly, it was a horrendous experience. They sat there, did not try to interact with me and forced me to have to make all the effort to talk.. It resulted in a really awkward experience where I couldn’t really discuss anything meaningful. I left there feeling pretty bad but still tried to put it behind me and keep trying. Another time I went there, I brought up the topic of obtaining HRT through an online, tele-health clinic. The same support worker as before spoke to me and told me what I was doing was illegal, that my GP would cut me off if they found out, and that I should strongly reconsider my thoughts. First of all, this is blatant misinformation. Tele-health clinics ARE in fact legal in Ireland. Any simple amount of research will tell you that. Secondly, they were very rude with how they acted. They made me feel guilty for trying to obtain HRT. Why do you claim to support transgender people if you are making an effort to prevent us from obtaining important medication? Since then I left, got HRT and never came back. If you are a transgender person, don’t come here.

This place has a super friendly, helpful and supportive staff. They were very knowledgeable about their chosen field and I felt very safe in their care. Also their free advice and free products proved very useful.
