Arcigay (National HQ)

Arcigay is Italy's largest and best-known LGBTQ+ rights organisation, and its national headquarters share the Cassero building at Via Don Minzoni 18 in Bologna. Founded as a national body in 1985, Arcigay coordinates dozens of local chapters across the country, campaigns on legal rights and health, and issues the membership card (tessera) used to enter many Italian gay venues. Its base in Bologna reflects the city's long place at the centre of Italian LGBTQ+ activism.
