I went to this pizzeria with my wife and son after some of my customers recommended it to me.
I'll start with the positives: the place is very beautiful, elegant, and well-kept, and the staff was friendly.
The drinks, however, were completely forgotten and arrived only after I asked for them a second time.
From a place of this caliber, I expected more attention.
There's also one aspect that I found absolutely unacceptable: the cutlery placed directly on the tabletop.
This is a practice I don't support in any type of establishment.
I believe that cutlery intended to come into contact with food and the customer's mouth should never be placed directly on the table. A napkin or a utensil mat would have sufficed.
For me, it's a matter of respect, care, and hygiene towards the customer.
When we opened the menu, I was surprised: some pizzas cost well over €30, and some even cost over €60.
I thought, "If a pizza costs that much, I'll probably have an experience I've never had in my 49 years."
Unfortunately, that wasn't the case.
The ingredients were good, but they alone didn't justify those prices.
The dough was very thin, and the crust couldn't even hold the meager toppings.
When cutting a slice, it fell apart, and with a fork and knife, you ended up getting either the dough or the toppings.
To eat them together, you practically had to roll the slice.
As a native of Catania, I know pizza culture well, and I've had the pleasure of eating it in Naples too. I don't pretend that all pizzas are the same, but when the price reaches these levels, comparisons with other experiences are inevitable. And, in my case, it was disappointing.
It's not a question of quantity. I rarely eat pizza, and when I do, I can hardly finish more than half.
This time I finished it without any difficulty, and that's when I realized something wasn't right.
For my son, we only ordered a portion of fries: €9, plus a €4 cover charge.
For him alone, €13, without even a drink.
The final bill was €86.
I'm not arguing with the prices, but with the balance between the asking price and the experience offered.
Only after dinner, when I returned to Google to leave this review, did I discover that the restaurant is owned by Flavio Briatore.
I, on the other hand, had judged exclusively what I found on my plate and the service I received.
I went in out of curiosity and left disappointed.
Paying a lot doesn't scare me when I perceive the value of what I'm getting is up to par. In this case, unfortunately, that wasn't my perception.
