I would like to leave very negative feedback for Sauna Nieuwezijds. I visited with a close friend because we wanted to experience the atmosphere. However, the man at the door asked if we had been partying that night. When I answered honestly and said yes, he suddenly started shouting at us. It was completely unprofessional and very insulting. I was completely sober and drug-free, and we were simply trying to show my friend around Amsterdam. We live in the UK and were looking forward to a good experience, but this completely ruined our evening. Because of this staff member, I felt upset for the rest of the night, and I will never return to this venue. I strongly advise others to stay away as long as this person is still working there, especially if he cannot communicate properly in English or treat customers with basic respect. I don't usually leave harsh reviews, but this man's behavior completely ruined our night. Please address this. I strongly advise others to avoid this place as long as this person works there, especially if he cannot treat customers with respect or speak normal English. I normally do not leave harsh reviews, but this man's behavior really ruined our evening. Please do something about this. I love Amsterdam, but these kinds of experiences give the city a bad name.

Very disappointing experience. It is sad to say, but the place feels more like a money grabbing business than a place that actually respects its customers. The entrance price is already high, yet it does not even include slippers, which you are basically forced to buy. On top of that, if you leave and come back, they charge you an extra 5 euros, which feels petty and excessive. The sauna itself is very small, poorly maintained, and did not feel clean enough. The staff were also unpleasant and not welcoming, which made the whole experience even more disappointing. I expected much more from a place like this in Amsterdam. Instead of a feeling of freedom, community, and good hospitality, I left with the feeling that customers are simply being taken advantage of. I would not return, and I would not recommend it.

Very good but not clean

Small place, cleanliness ok, beverages and food is good considering this is not a bar or restaurant. Prices are moderate. Guests are from a broad range of types - young, older, guy next door, athletic, bears etc. No matter if you seek hot fun or just company, you are in the right place there.

I have recently visited NZ sauna and had a fantastic experience. The place looks great, the staff was excellent, and has so much fun, especially if you’re a voyeur! Mid week on Wednesday was also full with a nice mixed crowd. If you’re in Amsterdam, I highly recommend going.

Not sure what I was expecting as a 69 yr old gay American. I was surprised it's only one story, kind of a lot packed into a small space, typical Dutch design. Floors were a little slippery in places from water or lube or?. It's a bath house, the steam was good and very sexy with a bit of nooks and crannies but lit just enough to see but dark enough for the mood with the pin lighting from ceiling. I'm not much in a towel anymore but still found some friendlies. Staff was not overly friendly in my opinion but that's kind of a dutch thing as well apparently. All in all it was a good time but been there done that and glad I did. I was there on kings Day which is quite something in itself. Danke.

This place was a complete disappointment. The atmosphere felt off from the moment we arrived, and it only got worse. The door staff were outright rude and gave off discriminatory, unwelcoming energy—especially toward international travelers. It didn’t feel like a safe or inclusive environment at all. On top of that, there were clear signs of drug use being tolerated, which just added to the uncomfortable and chaotic vibe. There are way better bars out there that actually respect their customers—don’t waste your time or money here.
