Leonardo Royal Hotel Den Haag Promenade

What a surprise when we arrived last Tuesday! So sweet, there was still a bottle of cava in the room at our hotel 😍 and the stay was, in a word, amazing. 😍 Top hotel, see you again next year, highly recommended Friendly, beautiful, clean, close to Scheveningen beach.

We stayed at this hotel for five nights in the summer (2 people, room without a balcony). The good location and the pleasant quiet of the hotel were definite pluses. Unfortunately, the negative points outweighed the positives for us: * The window in the room could only be opened a tiny bit. We found this extremely unpleasant, as adequate fresh air was practically impossible. * This meant we were reliant on the air conditioning. However, it was so loud that we had to turn it off at night. We reported this to reception. Unfortunately, it was never resolved in the following days. We never received a different room or any other compensation! * The room cleaning was particularly disappointing. According to the hotel, regular cleaning only takes place every four days. Additional cleaning must be explicitly requested. Despite repeated requests at reception, our room was only cleaned once during our five-day stay. We felt this was insufficient given the hotel's category. * We noticed upon arrival that the cleanliness was not up to standard. The coffee cups in the room were dirty, and there was hair, stains, and dust on the extra pillows in the wardrobe! * An electronic device tripped its fuse (see photos). * The spa area is an extra charge. Unfortunately, the swimming pool was neither relaxing nor safe. Visitors were jumping into the small pool from the edge, lanes were constantly blocked, and it was very noisy – although staff were present, no one intervened. Families with children should be especially careful here. The spa area's garden also looked neglected and uninviting. * The shower leaked, so after every shower, a large part of the bathroom was flooded. * The pricing for breakfast was also incomprehensible to us. At check-in, we were charged €20 per person for breakfast the following morning. Then, on the day of departure, we were suddenly charged around €29 per person. When we politely inquired about the reason for this price difference, we were simply told that they didn't want to "discuss it now." We found this response unfriendly and lacking in customer service. Overall, in our opinion, the price-performance ratio unfortunately does not meet what one would expect from a hotel of this category.

We had a nice stay with my daughter. It is a beautiful hotel, with a delicious breakfast and friendly staff. And conveniently close to the Western Mall in Leidschendam. However, I consider a major drawback to be that as a hotel guest you have to pay for parking, the swimming pool, the gym, and the sauna. Even if you only want to use the pool. Unfortunately, because of this, I will choose a different hotel in the future where these services are included.

We felt completely at ease – the staff were very friendly, helpful, and English-speaking; the rooms were clean and spacious [the only suggestion for improvement would be the lack of drying facilities for towels in the bathroom – a single hook for four towels without loops is impractical]; the breakfast buffet was very comprehensive and delicious (offering a wide selection even for those with food intolerances); and the spa/pool area was fantastic [we were very happy that it was included in the price – perhaps this is incorrectly listed on booking.com, as it states €20 per person per day for use]. The hotel's own restaurant/bar is also highly recommended – a small but excellent selection at reasonable and typical local prices. On top of all this, the hotel's location near the tram stop is perfect, allowing you to reach either the beach or the city in less than 15 minutes.

Unfortunately, there are waiting times all around.

A really nice hotel. The spa area is a little bit old and could be renewed. If this will happen soon, then 5*!

We spent 10 days here. Initially, we stayed in the newer part of the hotel, which wasn't a good idea. It was quite noisy from the elevator or perhaps a washing machine. We then booked an upgrade, which we were kindly given a discount. The older part, with its balcony, was simply wonderful. Overall, we had a lovely holiday and were delighted by the friendly staff. Unfortunately, the cleanliness wasn't quite what we expected. There's room for improvement there. Nothing terrible, but there were cobwebs, dust, and fingerprints on the mirrors here and there that took several days to remove. We would definitely come back.

The hotel is well located near the city and beach. On the downside, the parking fee is exorbitant, and there's a charge of €30 per night for a dog.

Very satisfied with the kindness and hospitality, also the welcome of our dogs, very nice that they were welcome in the hotel! Very satisfied with the room and Breakfast The parking was on the expensive side.

The staff, room, and breakfast were very good. The hotel is well located near the tram. However, parking is not included and is expensive, the spa is an extra charge and does not have a Jacuzzi.
