Ukrainian LGBT+ Military

Ukrainian LGBT+ Military and Veterans for Equal Rights was founded in 2018 by Viktor Pylypenko, an openly gay Donbas war veteran. Representing hundreds of serving and former service members, it advocates for equality and non-discrimination in the armed forces, marriage and partnership rights, and visibility of LGBTQ+ soldiers. The organization has opened an LGBT+ Military Hub in Kyiv and its members have marched in recent Kyiv Equality Marches.
