Maison de Bœuf

Attended Maison de Boeuf in Cardiff this evening for a family meal and was not disappointed. Lovely atmosphere - quite busy with a great vibe and the ambiance was great (low lighting and candles on tables). Service was exceptional - our waitress, Lilly, was very attentive and helpful and the food was amazing. We liked the fact that the menu was limited to a few choices (basically three starters/desserts and the main of steak and frites) - so often you can get overwhelmed by multiple choices where a restaurant that does one things exceptionally well is far better. Definitely recommend this but make sure you book in advance if it’s a weekend.

Danica is an absolute credit to this restaurant. My partner and I celebrated our anniversary here (our first time visiting Maison De Boeuf) and it was extremely enjoyable. Beautiful restaurant. We managed to book a table at short notice over the phone with no issues. Danica (our waitress) was super lovely and friendly and nothing was a bother for her. She made us feel very welcome and clearly works so hard to meet customers needs. The steak and drinks we had were delicious! Thank you so much for making our anniversary so special and thank you Danica!

Had an amazing time last week with my family celebrating a birthday, the steak was incredible and the second serve was a nice surprise too. Jack was great at looking after us. We will definitely be back soon.

We had my husband’s birthday dinner in Petite Maison private dining room on Sunday and it was absolutely perfect. The food was delicious, the room is beautiful and perfectly fit 15 of us and the staff were (as always) exceptional. They are so polite, efficient, friendly and nothing is too much trouble for them. They made the night perfect. Thank you to all for a birthday dinner we will never forget🙌👏🩷

Great food as always and our server Alys was brilliant

First time visiting and have been wanting to go for a long time now, managed to get a booking for my partners birthday. Attended on a Saturday night, the atmosphere was great and the setting and lighting was perfect, always love going down the castle arcade for food and drink, this is in a really good spot! Services was great, very tentative and nothing was ever too much (apologies I can’t remember the lady’s name who served us but she was brilliant!) The food was okay, the escargot and the French onion soup was probably the highlight of the night. The steak and frites was pretty underwhelming especially for what you pay, the portion size could be better and I could only order either Medium or Rare and not Medium/Rare which I do prefer, l’ve had Steak and frites directly on the Champs-Élysées which was cheaper, for a larger portion, of both steak and frites, slightly better quality of steak and at the doneness I prefer, I also had some change left over, which is crazy to think! Overall, great atmosphere, great service and okay food, location is spot on as well, and it’s another restaurant I can tick off in Cardiff.

Excellent food and service. We had a thoroughly enjoyable meal, perfect for celebrating my sister's birthday. The staff were amazing. The set menu was perfect, and the dessert cocktails were delicious.
