Fallon for the Plot — Good service deserves applause. Bad service deserves notes. 📍 The Mad Hatter Hotel, London We really enjoyed our stay at The Mad Hatter Hotel. The location was excellent — close to multiple Underground stops that made getting around London extremely easy, which honestly becomes priceless once your feet start negotiating against sightseeing. The staff here deserves a lot of credit. The front desk team also works within the pub downstairs, and every interaction we had was friendly, helpful, and accommodating. One night after the pub kitchen had stopped serving food, they helped us with late-night delivery recommendations, which was greatly appreciated after a full day in the city. And one moment in particular stood out to us as two women traveling together: while sitting in the pub, a couple strangers began talking to us, and the bartender quietly pulled us aside to make sure we were comfortable and everything was okay. That level of awareness and care genuinely meant a lot. The room itself was comfortable and efficient. I wouldn’t call it luxurious, but it had everything we needed. Robes and slippers were provided, which always earns bonus points for a cozy hotel moment. There was a Nespresso machine in the room, which we loved, along with a mini fridge. The only downside there was that the fridge didn’t seem to stay particularly cold, and the milk left inside had a bit of a smell, so I skipped using it. The pub downstairs was convenient and lively without being disruptive. The only real noise issue came from outside — there were quite a few sirens overnight — so if you’re a light sleeper, pack earplugs just in case. Observation: This hotel feels less “luxury London” and more “smart London basecamp.” Comfortable, well-located, safe-feeling, and staffed by people who actually pay attention. Would absolutely stay here again. ✅ No Notes

The rooms are a bit worn, noting that really mattered but be aware. Smaller breakfast buffé, but you also can order from the menu (or just aske for some beacon and eggs….). The staff were very nice and helpful. This is a pub-hotel. I would definitely consider a stay here again. Easy walk over the bridge to Blackfriars.

Had a great time at this hotel. You are close to the London Eye, Big Ben and the London Bridge. Sammy and Luke at the front desk were so friendly and helpful. The pub was so cute and their staff was awesome too, especially Abigail. Will definitely stay there again next time we visit London.

Really lovely hotel - friendly, personable staff (thanks for the music chat Luke!) and great food in the restaurant. Rooms are comfortable and have personality and I slept really well. Would definitely recommend and return if in the area again.

Great wee hotel. We stayed for 2 nights over the London marathon weekend. Location was perfect, easy to get to from a number of tube stations. Room was clean, the bed enormous and very good coffee in the room and on the house. Stand out were the staff, everyone so friendly and helpful, have never felt more welcome in a hotel before. Husband very pleased about Fullers pub attached and the breakfast was first class. Only minor negatives, rooms to the front do suffer a bit from road noise, to be expected in such a central hotel and the coffee at breakfast (not as good as the coffee in the rooms!). Would definitely go back when next staying in London.

This was my local for many years and my absolute favourite of the many pubs in the area. The staff were friendly and – this really sets them apart – they had the cleanest bathrooms of any pub in London! I kid you not. Nice selection of real ales and other beers (mostly Fuller's). I haven't lived in London for years, and I still miss The Mad Hatter, truly the nicest local I had in any of the places I lived.
