Little Rock's Gay Bars & Clubs

Little Rock, the capital of Arkansas, has a small but genuine LGBTQ+ nightlife scene built around two anchors. It is not a sprawling gayborhood, but the venues that exist are long-established, welcoming, and central to queer life across central Arkansas. Here is where to go out.

Where the Nightlife Is

The scene splits between two locations: Downtown Little Rock and the River Market District, where the flagship club sits, and a long-running club complex a short drive south at 1021 Jessie Road. Both are easy to reach by car or rideshare, and together they carry essentially all of the city's dedicated gay-club nightlife.

Club Sway

Club Sway (412 South Louisiana Street) is Arkansas's flagship LGBTQ+ club. Open since 2010 and located downtown, it is known for drag performances, DJ nights, themed parties, and a mixed, energetic queer crowd. Weekends are busiest, and its calendar of shows and special events makes it the default night out for locals and visitors alike.

Triniti & Discovery

The club complex at 1021 Jessie Road runs under two names on two nights: Triniti Nightclub on Friday nights and Discovery Nightclub on Saturday nights. Discovery has been a fixture of Arkansas gay nightlife since 1979, making it one of the oldest continuously operating gay clubs in the region. The venue is a multi-room space with a main dance floor, a drag showroom, and additional bars, so the atmosphere shifts from room to room across a single night.

A Note on Six Ten Center

The former Six Ten Center on Center Street, once a community gathering spot, has permanently closed, as has its short-lived successor. It is no longer part of the city's active nightlife.

Beyond the Dedicated Clubs

Little Rock also has a growing number of openly LGBTQ+-friendly bars and restaurants, particularly downtown, in the River Market District, and in the South Main (SoMa) arts district just south of the center. Several are LGBTQ+-owned. During Central Arkansas PRIDEFest in October and the SoMa Pride Street Festival in June, the broader downtown area fills with pop-up parties and events.

Practical Tips

Arkansas is a conservative, legally hostile state, especially toward transgender residents, but Little Rock as the capital is markedly more progressive and its venues are visible and safe. Standard urban precautions apply. Rideshare is the easiest way to move between the downtown and Jessie Road clusters, and weekend nights are when the scene is at its liveliest.
