Renaissance Austin Downtown Hotel

I had an absolutely incredible stay thanks to Neville, Jose, and the entire staff! From the moment I arrived, everyone went above and beyond to make sure every part of my experience was exceptional. The room was beautiful, and the amenities truly made my stay unforgettable. The pool area was amazing and the perfect place to relax and unwind. The food was outstanding throughout my stay, and the coffee shop was another highlight; great atmosphere and excellent coffee that made every morning even better. The hospitality, professionalism, and genuine care from the entire team really stood out. It’s rare to come across a staff that makes you feel this welcomed and appreciated. They completely exceeded my expectations in every way. I’m already looking forward to coming back! Highly recommend to anyone looking for a top-tier experience.

Was charged twice for my room and no one answers the phone to help me resolve this issue. Worst hotel customer service I’ve received by far.

DO NOT STAY HERE. at no point did they inform us that valet was $67 a night!!! not even a 5 star hotel is that much.

The gentleman at check in was fabulous if a bit condescending… after looking around a bit i thought it seemed like a bit of the 1960’s dropped right into 2026 and would be a great location for filming the next Austin Powers movie, just add actors, music and cameras. However after spending time around the facility it seemed more like a hotel styled in the 60’s and never truly upgraded to the point of slightly decrepit. The expansive patios with so many adirondak chairs is a nice touch. The riverwalk just off the property looks quite inviting but the gate which leads to it is locked which was disappointing! The bartenders and drinks were fantastic as were the servers and breakfast! This Renaissance lacks a concierge lounge which i have never ran into at a Renaissance before and the parking was unbelievably expensive and with my bonvoy account i have become accustomed to having free parking at most properties. The pool was nice and what they did with the indoor portion of the pool (tables for the restaurant) is very kicky although i would have preferred the indoor pool and hot tub to the current use.. the hotel rooms are good and the beds comfortable but I didn’t appreciate the bathroom design and the ice machine on out floor never had ice. All in all i will try a different property my next trip to Austin as this one doesn’t meet my expectations of a Marriott Renaissance.

I stay here every time I come to Austin I absolutely love it, AJ is always so accommodating. The staff is always so kind and the service is amazing.!

I had my wedding room block at the Downright Austin Hotel. The location, decor, and pool were wonderful! I reserved a Jr VP suite for my bridal party to get ready in and for my husband and I to say in after our wedding. Based on the pictures of the Jr suite on the website, I thought I was getting a full-size refrigerator. I bought drinks and fruit and vegetable trays for my bridal party, thinking they would fit in the full-size refrigerator. When I got to my room, I only had one mini-fridge that barely held a few cans or water bottles. I went down to the front desk to ask about this and they said that Jr suites should have a full refrigerator but mine unfortunately did not. There was no attempt to try to rectify the situation by moving rooms or offering a discount. It did not seem like they really cared. I asked for an additional refrigerator and one was brought up to my room. However, I still needed my fiancé to drive from North Austin to the hotel to drop off a cooler to accommodate all my refrigerated items. Additionally, I had negotiated a discounted parking rate for my guests. I gave the discount to my photographer so she could get the discounted parking for 24 hours and after 2 hours, it asked her to pay more to extend her parking time. The discount parking code did not work for my sister who stayed at the hotel for 4 nights.

The room is very nice with comfortable bed and pillows, easy check in and out, location was perfect but parking is far if you don’t want to use the valet $$

Nothing special. I would stay somewhere else if possible. Good for a last resort.

Great views, nice rooms with retro furniture, stocked with fullsize shampoo, conditioner, and body wash. My favorite part was the bartenders down at the Swim Club. They are sooo much fun and the best! I highly recommend visiting Harrison and his buddies if you are staying here.
