Iowa City Pride

Iowa City Pride is the all-volunteer nonprofit that organises the city's annual Pride parade and festival each June. The festival uses downtown and the Pedestrian Mall, with a parade, stage acts including drag, and booths for community groups and vendors. Iowa City has one of the older Pride traditions in the Midwest, linked to University of Iowa student activism in the early 1970s. Outside June the group coordinates Pride-week events with local venues and points people to local LGBTQ+ resources. It has no public office; dates and event details are posted on iowacitypride.org.
