Brick Road Coffee Mesa

Brick Road Coffee Mesa is the second café from Gabe Hagen and Jesse Shank, the married couple behind the queer-owned Brick Road Coffee in Tempe. It opened in 2025 at 1337 S Gilbert Road as Empower Coffee Roasters, next to their Prism Coffee Lab roastery, and now trades under the Brick Road name. The space doubles as an event room, with a monthly book club and evenings run with local LGBTQ+ groups. In a city with no gay bar, it's the closest thing Mesa has to a queer daytime hangout.
