Radisson Hotel St. Louis Downtown—Convention Center
Visitors frequently praise the hotel for its friendly staff, clean and comfortable rooms, and convenient downtown location, with many also enjoying the breakfast buffet and bar. However, some guests have experienced issues with ongoing renovations and, more significantly, problems with air conditioning not working in rooms.

We were in town for a Cardinals/Cubs game on a Saturday. We didn't say anything about our room when we first checked in because we wanted to go about our day and it was busy. The first room we got had a giant clump of hair attached to the bottom of the bathroom door, the air conditioning didn't work, and the shower had low pressure and was the worst showering experience I've ever had in a hotel but it got the job done. It's a good 15 minute walk to Busch Stadium which we didn't mind but not the most convenient. We at least were taken care of later in the evening after the game when they gave us a different room which had cold air. That's the only thing that kept me from really complaining. The experience was definitely not worth the $220 plus $30 in parking and we will never stay there again
Check-in and out were smooth and easy. Both ladies up front were very kind and friendly faces. The lobby area was very warm and humid. The luggage carts were hidden around the corner. Parking was difficult. Our room was fine. The window sills and crevices near furniture were dusty and had crumbs along them. The bathroom had hair in and around the tub. The door to the room stuck horribly. We had to yank it open and slam it shut. There were reading lights on each bedside; however, one of ours was missing the light and had EXPOSED WIRES!! The pool area was VERY SLICK. Otherwise, good location, seemingly quiet street, and easy walkable distance to a variety of restaurants.
I stayed here in late June 2025, less than a year ago, right after Holiday Inn dropped it's franchise license and before it became Radisson. It was called the Arch Convention Hotel in the interim. I hope Radisson quickly turns course on this hotel, before it dings their reputation. When I visited, the place was falling apart. The room was not very clean. The carpet was crunchy. The pool was murky. The common areas were questionable. Initial impressions of the lobby were good, but then I realized it was like lipstick on a pig. The hotel lost my reservation and ended up charging me like 50-percent more as a result. It's only been a year, but I hope Radisson has fixed all those problems.
I don't know why I am even bothering leaving a review. This is a broken hotel and the owners and management are well aware. Check in was a nightmare. Hotel offers zero parking and only suggests "parking in the street" which is illegal in most of the area surrounding the hotel. The check-in process basically amounts to parking illegally, bringing in your luggage, and then looking for a parking garage within a few miles, and walking. My first set of room keys did not work, then, after getting that resolved I opened my room door to find the thermostat read 96 degrees. I called to report the problem and the front desk manager told me "she would call someone on the radio". I waited about 1/2 hour before heading into town. When I returned a few hours later, my room was now 97. I called again and was told "you had it set on heat, it'll take a while before it cools down". This was simply not true. The thermostat was set to cold, however, the vents were blasting heater-warm air into the room. I asked for a replacement room and was told "it's a full house". Finally, after about 4 hours I'd had enough and had to go down to the lobby and make a scene. I didn't want to do this, but I was not like 5 hours into this ordeal and I felt trapped in a scam. At the lobby I pointed out to the staff that I had a room that was approaching 98 degrees and started showing a picture of the thermostat to other guests inline. Other people were already aware of the problem and it cause a little scene. The good news is, they finally gave me keys to a different room. The manager gave me these keys and said "try this one". Yes, the manager made ME visit my replacement room to make sure it was cool. Ugh. During all of this I am lookin online and I noticed so many negative reviews about room temperature. They KNOW they have problems. When I was told "the thermostat was set to heat" the employee was lying to me. It was some sort of delay tactic I'm guessing from an employee that has simply given up. A few other concerns. The next morning I walked the floors and stairs for exercise. There were SO MANY ROOMS, at least 6, that had the doors propped open with fans drying wet floors. I didn't experience any issues, but imagine staying in a hotel with flooding toilets! Also, the pool looked like green milk. I couldn't believe kids were swimming in it. The doors to both of my rooms would barely shut. The bathtub had cracks and chips in the enamel and there was so much hair in the tub and bathroom. Under the chair in the room I found old French fries and a sippy cup. The fries looked more than a few days old. Such a bad experience. It really feels like this hotel went out of business and some random people just moved in and started renting rooms to people. The most disappointing part is, with all my troubles, I wasn't offered any sort of compensation. Not even a bottle of water.
