National Center for Transgender Equality (NCTE)*

The National Center for Transgender Equality is a Washington DC advocacy organisation founded in 2003 to push for policy change on behalf of transgender people in the US. Its work is mostly federal lobbying, legal and policy research, and public guides, for example on ID documents, travel screening and know-your-rights material. This is an office, not a community centre, so there is nothing to visit as a traveller. Its website is the useful part, especially the ID-document and airport-security guidance for trans travellers.
