Eurovision Song Contest
Su questo evento
The Eurovision Song Contest comes to Burgas, Bulgaria, for its 71st edition after Dara's "Bangaranga" won the 2026 contest in Vienna. The two semi-finals are on Tuesday 11 May and Thursday 13 May 2027, and the Grand Final is on Saturday 15 May, all at Arena Burgas, the 15,000-seat hall near the city's Black Sea front that opened in 2023. Six preview shows (the jury and family shows) run from 10 to 15 May.
Eurovision is the biggest queer travel week in Europe's calendar even though it is not an LGBTQ+ event on paper. The host city builds a Eurovision Village (free outdoor stage, screenings and fan meet-ups) and an official EuroClub, where ticket holders and delegations party until late; the fan clubs run their own nights around them. Expect the bars along the Sea Garden and the old-town streets near the Alexandrovska pedestrian strip to be full all week. Bulgaria decriminalised same-sex relations in 1968 but does not recognise same-sex couples, and Sofia Pride (June) is the country's main LGBTQ+ event; Burgas has no dedicated gay bars, so the scene that week is the one the contest brings with it.
Tickets for the nine shows go on sale in stages through eurovision.tv from early 2027; the Grand Final sells out within minutes, and the semi-final and family shows are the realistic options. Burgas Airport (BOJ) is 10 km from the arena; Sofia is 4 hours by road or a short domestic flight. Book accommodation the day the ticket dates are announced — the city has far fewer hotel rooms than Vienna or Basel had.
