Tel Aviv LGBTQ Center (Gan Meir)

The Tel Aviv LGBTQ Center is the municipality's community centre for LGBTQ+ residents. It opened in 2008 at the southern end of Gan Meir park, at 22 Tchernichovsky Street just off King George Street. It hosts support groups, meetings, lectures and cultural events, and the HaMeshulash LGBTQ theatre performs in its hall. For visitors, it's the easiest place to find out what's on that week. Outside is Israel's memorial to people persecuted by the Nazis for their sexuality and gender identity, unveiled in 2014. Nearby, a small cactus garden remembers the victims of the 2009 Bar-Noar shooting. Gan Meir itself is a popular dog park and meeting spot.
