booked into the allegedly “premium” room with stains on the floor, silicone and mouldy wood everywhere, missing tiles in the shower and just overall not vibe, check in was at 2pm and we got there at 2:15 and was asked for a $200 bond AFTER we had paid for the room which we were not told about and then the room was still not ready for another 40 minutes. I had 7 nights at Eminence on Bank. Even though it was not a perfect experience, overall it was good. There are some things you need to know: 1. The location and check-in process It is confusing and no detailed instructions are given. The hotel needs to improve this and at least provide customers with clear guidance on how to reach the hotel. • It is inside a big building, with the ground floor full of bars and restaurants. What you need to do is go to Bank Street, pay attention to the yellow wooden box, or try to find number 25 with the sign of Eminence on Bank. • I thought the hotel was the whole building, but it is not (just a part of it). • After getting to the hotel sign, you will see a glass door. You have to call the hotel to get the password to enter, and once inside, the reception is on the 4th floor. To get the password, they will ask for your card number and expiry date. • If you check in after 6pm, the reception is closed, but there will be instructions for you to get the key. • One downside is that they will hold AUD 206 as a bond (which no one told me, and I only found out when I went to the receptionist the next morning to ask about it). It was annoying because I thought my card information had been stolen, and I had to call the bank to cancel it and issue a new one, which caused some personal problems later. • About the location, the hotel is on a “bar street”, which means if you stay on the first floor, you may hear music all night. For me it was okay, but be careful if you are sensitive to noise, as there is no soundproofing. Maybe choose a higher floor. • On the other hand, it is located in the city center, close to the casino, riverbank, and different restaurants with various cuisines. It is within walking distance to many attractions and only 2 minutes to catch the free tram. Very convenient 😍 ⸻ 2. The price and the facilities • I booked through Agoda, around AUD 100 per night (from 25/03/25 to 01/04/25). • I booked 6 nights + 1 night (by mistake), with two types of rooms (but they were happy to let me stay in the same room for all nights, which was hospitable). However, again there was no instruction — a new key needed to be issued for the seventh night, but the receptionist didn’t say anything. When I came back to the room, the key was not working, so I had to go back to reception to get a new one. It was not a big issue, but it reduced the overall experience. • About the room, it was good and newly refurbished. The bed was comfortable, although the bedsheets had some stains. My room had a table and chairs, which accommodated my studying for my upcoming exam. Coffee, tea, microwave, fridge, mirror, and TV with Netflix were all available. • The bathroom was clean and new. One funny thing was that the mirror in the bathroom was too high, and I could not use it with my height, but there was another mirror in the room, so it was okay. • They said there was no daily service — if needed, you have to go to the receptionist to request it. • The elevator was a bit funny, but it was okay. ⸻ Overall Overall, it is a good place to stay, but it needs better customer service. Maybe I will come back because of the affordable price and good location.

An amazing experience. As soon as I walked in I felt like home. Having high anxiety going places, I felt safe an so comfortable. Bathroom so good 💯 going back again.

ROOM 106, 1 NIGHT This hotel is so run down and needs a total refurb, very noisy and I mean noisy. Windows dont stop any noise at all. Window rattler aircon - couldnt move vents, blows right on you. No spare blankets or pillows, door has wood rot on bottom, carpet is revolting, no water, fridge turned off, no GPO by bed just a power board on floor AND breathe if you want to sit on toilet. Good things-bed was comfy, shame couldn't sleep due to noise; shower had good pressure and they stored my luggage. Sorry but wont be staying again.

Second star given for affordability and proximity to nearby attractions (e.g. Adelaide oval, casino). We stayed on a major event night as this hotel was $373 and almost half the price of next cheapest option. You get what you pay for! On arrival entry, elevator and hallways are littered with crumbs and rubbish. An additional $200 bond/deposit charged. Beware motion sickness in the elevator - it lurched violently every time we used it. Room amenities acceptable - working fridge, microwave, TV, air conditioner. Bed, linen and towels clean and fresh, however decorative cushions and bed runner with obvious marks from previous guests (dropped food I hope!) Bathroom: good shower pressure, limited hot water (hot water tank located inside room). Toilet situated a millimetre from wall, so anyone larger than a child or very slim person has to use the toilet pushed off to one side. Mirror situated above my eye level (I'm 163cm - do your make-up before you arrive or BYO mirror). Room is visibly clean at first, although dated with some minor cosmetic wall and ceiling damage. However, used tissues and rubbish under the bed - yuck! Loud street noise - although this is to be expected given the hotel location and ear plugs supplied by the hotel mitigate this problem well. I'm not in a hurry to stay here again. I would only recommend as a last resort, or on very busy event nights (when every hotel has tripled their prices).

Good location but don’t plan on getting any sleep. The windows offer no sound proofing and part of it was cardboard and the portable air con in the window didn’t help at all. The hotel is really run down, and for $200 a night, it is ridiculous. I’ve stayed in plenty of better hostels than this place.

A centre place in CBD, everything is within walking distance, rundle mall, train station, metro, bus stop, foods, macdonalds, hungry jacks, kfc. Staffs are very good and welcoming. I will stay here in my next visit.

I stayed at this hotel couple of years and now again. I could see a lot of difference with the hotel after renovations.

Quite disappointed. The entry door is broken and is replaced with a piece of wood, The elevator is dirty, The room is super small & our bathroom is so very old and crusty. The vanity has been replaced with a piece of ply wood. There is no light in the bathroom and the mirror is that old its bronze. I dont think I will be returning here any time soon.
