Kvirhana Festival

Kvirhana is a queer art and activism festival run by the Sarajevo Open Centre with Tuzla Open Centre. It grew out of the Sarajevo edition of the Merlinka film festival and took its current name in 2021. Entry is free, and the programme mixes film, talks, exhibitions, DJ nights and the DRAGHANA drag show with Bosnian drag artists.

The 5th edition ran 12–14 June 2025 ("We're Not New Here") at the Goethe-Institut, the History Museum, the Skenderija youth centre and Sarajevo War Theatre. The 6th, "Uprkos svemu" (Despite Everything), ran 17–20 June 2026 and closed with a concert at Dom mladih Skenderija. It is held in the same week as Sarajevo Pride. The 2027 dates hadn't been announced at the time of writing; check kvirhana.ba.
