What a beautiful place to hold the trial and execution of a putler!

Just a buffet. The worst version of The Master and Margarita I've ever seen. Besides Anatoly Kot, the cast seems to be amateur actors. A village one, at that. The sets are bland. The director's vision is extremely dubious. It seems that if it weren't for his father-in-law, Khabensky wouldn't have gone from being an average, strong actor to becoming artistic director of a famous theater... Unfortunately... Almost three and a half hours wasted.

I'd really like to share my impressions of Konstantin Khabensky's new production of "The Seagull." The play certainly deserved a better fate, having been staged with the director's interest in the characters' inner worlds, with an understanding of their search for the meaning of life, and, most importantly, with such scope for the actors' performances. Instead, the audience was presented with a rather vulgar interpretation of all the characters' behavior (the actors had practically nothing to act), culminating in theatrical depictions of their bodily functions (urination, copulation, and eating the raw flesh of a dead seagull, followed by vomiting). Perhaps all of this can only be justified by the director's brilliant insights into crafting the ultimate goal of each role. But the question arises: "Is such an exhibitionist interpretation of Chekhov's not-so-bad work really necessary on the "best" stage in the country and at the Moscow Art Theater bearing his name?" And how does Konstantin Khabensky deal with simple human shame in front of a classic? And you should also be ashamed of the prices in the stalls for tickets of 20,000 rubles for such a performance.

Terrible service

I'm a regular at this theater, but today I was very disappointed, specifically with the woman on the other end of the phone. She was completely inept at communicating with customers. I've completely lost any desire to ever come back, much less call with any questions about the theater, etc.

The staff member's attitude toward people is completely incompetent. From the very first minute of our call, they were rude to me, even though I simply wanted to clarify about a ticket refund. I received such a rude response, which I've never seen before. Plus, I'm a representative of a different nationality, and they simply picked on me because of my pronunciation, accusing me of something incomprehensible. I hope you take action.

A classical theater in the center of Moscow. The auditorium is not very large, there are also seats with limited visibility due to columns. In the corridors there are photos and costumes from famous performances.

Wonderful place, amazing artists

I would love to visit when the war is over and there is peace and happiness for everyone. Use Crimea together and refrain from claiming land. People can use and enjoy everything internationally in peace. Sit down together. There has to be a solution. One where no one loses face. Sorry. I don't need an answer. But the war was stupid. And now? How do I gracefully extricate myself from this? Please, no answers here! I'm not reading this. I'll see what happens in politics. I'm very sorry that not everyone is allowed to say what they think. Sorry. He would be capable of being a super politician... without this bitter aftertaste. And I think he could be if he wanted to.

The play "How Do You Like It?" at the Chekhov Moscow Art Theater. A punk comedy (as advertised) based on a little-known Shakespeare play. I didn't like it at all. It was boring, nothing funny, rather ridiculous. For some reason, they faked a ridiculous English accent. Punk culture is represented by Sex Pistols music that doesn't fit the plot, ridiculous wigs, tattoos, and ripped tights. There's no overt or covert protest, subtext, or references to any current issues. I more or less liked the performances of Kuzma Kotrelev (Orlando) and Polina Romanova (Rosalind). Weak. I expected something more elegant from the Chekhov Moscow Art Theater. On the plus side, the colorful costumes. The set design is ok.
