Majestic Hotel & Spa

Its a nice and recently renovated property. We stayed four nights in September. We checked in as leaders club guests. Did not receive an upgradeas far as I am aware, but that is sth I noticed happen very often recently with leaders club. Maybe more an issue with leaders club than with the hotel. The property is in good shape, including the room, the bathroom and the entire property. The gym is well equipped. Service lacks though. On 2 days out of 2, housekeeping did not show up at all. The second time this happened, we called reception - but still housekeeping did not show up. On our last day, I ordered breakfast via roomservice the night before. Breakfast never made its way to our room. So no breakfast on check out day. On Sunday, we wanted to have pre dinner drinks at the bar. It was not crowded and we were sitting in plain sight of the staff. After 20 min, we still had not been approached by any of the staff, so we got up and asked them for a menue. From there, it got better, but service was still very slow. All in all, I would not come back due to the lack of service.

The only possible downside to our beautiful accommodations at the Majestic was the (no) view. The rooms themselves were lovely with an anteroom with a chair, a very spacious main room with a king bed and nightstands, a desk, a sofa and table. It featured a minibar, snacks (€) and a safe, of course. The walk-in closet area was spacious enough for all our luggage, two pieces open. The bath had a huge porcelain tub with shower, sink, a wonderful lighted makeup mirror and a gentleman who came rushing in shortly after we arrived to change the battery we didn’t realize was out!). A separate area featured toilet and bidet. The only complaint we had was that the TV had instructions for a remote that didn’t in any way resemble the one we had and although someone came to demonstrate, he did not bring the proper remote but made the one we had work the TV. That did the trick until the last evening when all we could get it to do was assure us that we had no messages. We had one meal at the Terraza La Dolce Vita on the 10th floor. It was exactly what we wanted: casual, excellent sandwiches and the bottle of wine the server suggested was wonderful. We were sorry our schedule prohibited us from returning another night. The Majestic Breakfast at SOLC Restaurant can well be believed to be the “Best in Europe” (which award it won in 2018). The food was terrific but it was the service that made the experience magic! In four mornings Angela became a friend. Her care in remembering us, taking our orders, sharing with us, and being a ray of sunshine each day made breakfast a special event. And then there was Christian. Who knew being a heavy coffee drinker could be such fun? Here, when you need your morning coffee, there’s no wait. Christian is right there with the pot…and he pours your first piping hot cup too! Not only that, after the first breakfast, he had us pegged as a two pot couple and we never ran out. On our, sadly, last morning we were sitting at a lovely table, out of the way, behind a pillar. Both Angela and Christian found us straight away! Christian with a second pot to add to our first and Angela for a chat even though she wasn’t our server. These are the people that make Majestic a very special place and one we will be certain to recommend and come back to every time we visit Barcelona.

Majestic Hotel & Spa completely exceeded our expectations! Everything was top-notch, from the prime location to the luxurious rooms. A huge thank you to Dani at the breakfast restaurant—his amazing energy and top-tier service made our mornings truly memorable. Outstanding stay from start to finish!

If you are visiting Barcelona there is only one place to stay. The Majestic Hotel & Spa. We recently stayed there and cannot stop talking about it to friends and family.

Great atmosphere, chill DJ, killer view. Mica and Cesar took good care of us. Don’t miss the tuna tartare tacos. Hit at sunset or during la Mercè if you are fortunate.

We enjoyed our stay at the Majestic. It is a lovely luxurious hotel in a great central location. The staff are all super attentive and friendly. The room was comfortable and the bed/bedding and bathroom were also just perfect! We really enjoyed the rooftop bar/restaurant. I highly recommend this hotel!

This hotel is everything you could want for a magical trip to Barcelona. I travel a great deal and very good is common, but there is something that doesn’t meet the standard of excellence. Hotel Majestic is the total package with superb facilities in the ultimate location. The food and amenities are really good. The staff are courteous and friendly while never failing to provide outstanding service.

Beautiful hotel in a wonderful location. Our bed was exceptionally comfortable and everything was very clean. Sadly, we checked into a room that had no air conditioning. It appeared the bellman knew there was a problem but moved on after telling us we could call the desk if it didn’t cool off. With a phone call, a maintenance person was sent and said he fixed it. When we returned to our room exhausted and ready for bed it was too hot. After insistence, we were given a different room “just to sleep in.” We were also assured the AC would be fixed. When we returned the next day after a very long tour our room was sweltering. We had to call for maintenance again and then, after an hour or so, insist on being moved permanently. I accept stuff happens but we shouldn’t have been the ones pursuing the repair and suggesting the remedy. The hotel should have been far more proactive. Also, for our troubles and disruptions, we should have received a comp of some sort, a free dinner, a credit for the downgraded room we slept in, services at the spa, etc. A beautiful hotel, friendly staff, no urgency if you encounter a problem.

Every staff member here goes above and beyond to be helpful and kind. Most outstanding was Miguel who served us more than once in the restaurant on 1st floor. His kindness, great recommendations, attention to details and service made out meals not just meals but memories of our time in Barcelona. The food and variety is beyond belief.
