Gay Saunas in Salvador: The City's Four Bathhouses

Salvador's gay sauna scene is small but genuine. The local Guia Gay Salvador lists four operating gay bathhouses, spread across a few districts rather than one cluster, each with its own character - from a large multi-floor men's club to a sauna known for its drag shows.

Sauna Fox (Pituba)

In the commercial Pituba district, Sauna Fox is a men-only sauna with dry and steam rooms, an outdoor garden bar and a relaxed, social atmosphere. It is one of the more established and easy-going options in the city, popular for an unhurried afternoon or early-evening visit.

Clube Rio's For Man (Barris)

On Rua Almeida Sande in Barris, Clube Rio's For Man is a large, long-running three-floor men's club - more than a simple sauna. Alongside dry and steam saunas it offers dark rooms, a bar, a cinema and regular parties, making it one of the busiest venues in the local scene.

Sauna Paradise (Barra)

Sauna Paradise, near Rua Leoni Ramos in the Barra area, is a two-floor bathhouse with dry and steam saunas, video and dark rooms and private cabins. It tends to draw a slightly older, mixed local crowd and is handy for anyone staying in the Barra/Chame-Chame area.

Clube 11 / Sauna Planetario 11 (Tororo)

In Tororo, Clube 11 (also called Sauna Planetario 11) stands out for its stage transformista/drag performances, alongside the usual dry and steam saunas, private cabins, a massage room and a bar. It is the most show-oriented of the city's saunas.

What to Expect

Salvador's saunas are men-only spaces for relaxing and socialising. Facilities typically include dry and wet saunas, cabins and a bar; towels are provided or rented, and dress is minimal. Weekends are busiest, midweek quieter. Entry is 18+ and ID may be required. Reach them by taxi or ride-hailing app (Uber/99) with the exact address, and use standard urban-safety awareness as anywhere in the city.
