I stayed at the Lockwood Hotel during a business trip supporting the Toyota dealership in Augusta, and overall it is a very nice property with a great look and feel. A colleague recommended it since the Hilton and Marriott options in Augusta are not the best. My biggest callout is the TV setup because the casting feature did not work, so I could not cast Netflix or YouTube TV from my phone or iPad, and the only built-in apps available were YouTube and two others I had never heard of. Most hotels let you sign into Netflix directly, so having that available would make the guest experience much better, and TVs that pull slightly away from the wall would allow guests to use an HDMI cord when needed. I also wish the onsite restaurant offered online ordering with the option to have food brought directly to the room. When traveling alone, you do not always want to sit in a restaurant by yourself, and sometimes you just want to order dinner without talking to anyone, so that would elevate the experience in a big way. Parking across the street is not ideal but expected for a downtown area. My bathroom sink drained slowly, which I reported to the front desk, but that is an easy fix and not something that would keep me from coming back. Overall I enjoyed my stay and will actually be returning this week for business.

Just steps from the theater you can walk to several restaurants featuring Italian, Greek and tavern food also a specialty foods shop across the street from the hotel. After we checked out, we decided to walk around town looking for a place to eat lunch. We ended up back at the Lockwood at their restaurant Front Main, it was a good decision. We ate outside on the patio which has beautiful gardens to enjoy. The Street Taco's looked interesting, the table next to us had ordered them and they looked really tasty. But we both decided on "THE BURGER". Okay we have had awesome burgers before, but this was WOW! The flavor, the way they grilled the bun, it was amazing! I usually take pictures but after the first bite I couldn't put it down, it was that amazing! LOL I will be taking pictures the next time, because we are definitely coming back again!

The good: ample parking, centralized location, very clean, comfortable rooms. Excellent communication prior to your stay. The bad: advertised valet service was no where to be found, parking lot designated for the hotel was not well labeled. Spencer the front desk person told my friend to "calm down" like she was a hysterical shrew when all she asked was "how do I get to the back lot?" The take away: we only had one negative experience and that was finding the parking lot and honestly it wasn't a big deal. The room was very clean, the bedding smelled nice like lemongrass not bleach. Its a cute little hotel. We had plenty of choices for dinner and breakfast. Lots of little shops to explore and it was walking distance to the opera house.

Really nice boutique hotel filled with Maine art, I assume from Colby College's collections. The hallway leading to our room was lined with Langlaises! Even the room keys had Maine art on them. Nice sense of place and community connection.

Service needs works. Texted us and knocking on our door about a TV noise complaint that had nothing to do with us, asked for a 12 noon checkout and offered to pay, no go, and $90 for two subpar Caesar salads at the hotel restaurant is a bit much. Room and facilities are excellent.
