Cambria Hotel Appleton

MARRIOTT. No longer a Cambria. I stayed here for 2 weeks for work back in 2025, loved the stay. Hotel was well kept up, nice inviting bar with a food menu. Also the pool and hot tub was a nice addition all for $88 a night. Sawing, drilling, hammering all on a SUNDAY! CLOSE DURING RENOVATIONS! Now since being taken over by Marriott, it's $110 a night, no bar, no food, no pool. No value for your money, the breakfast is trash. Don't charge people more when you still have the old name attached to everything and take amenities away. Will be last stay here

Currently going through a transition to a another hotel chain so there is some construction overall was a pleasant stay

At checkin, we recognized the hotel is under renovations and we were informed the pool was closed stating that was disclosed on the bottom of the page when reserving the room. We, however, did not reserve online but via phone. We were told that the agent at the hotel would have informed us, however, our reservation call was forwarded to an agent not at the property. Our check in was not pleasant. We have stayed at this hotel the past two years. It is in desperate need of the current renovations.

Friendly staff, but NO POOL!! Under renovation which isn’t a huge deal, but unfortunately the pool is closed which is the main attraction when booking a hotel for the family.

Did not know this hotel was under construction. Elevator was not working which didn’t seem to be an issue to the employees working front desk. Curtains in the room were super ripped along with the fabric on the couch which also didn’t to be an issue.

Would be higher than 3 star but no one told the hotel was under construction. Very limited parking due to construction. Staff is very polite and friendly nice warm small pool and workout room.

The hotel’s location was good as it was close to my job. But my experience did not rate high. Entering into the lobby and taking notice of the outside, you could tell the hotel was under some renovation - which would have been nice to know in advance, prior to my arrival. The room was not up to my standards. Right away, it was noisy and the room’s temperature was very low. The noise was coming from the upstairs as renovations were continually being worked on through 7pm. The temperature of the room was very cold due to the window being open… a hotel’s window open is odd. Additionally, the window’s curtains were completely shredded and torn. I mentioned this to the staff at the front desk and was responded with “The window open is weird. The shredded curtains is completely normal.” How can shredded curtains be normal for a hotel? It’s not. There was no follow-up added and the front desk staff did not provide a solution. My guess the window was open as housekeeping may have gotten warm and forgot to shut it. I didn’t know that hotel windows could open, did you? For the curtains, perhaps replace them asap so that you don’t get anymore complaints.

Yikes, I really wanted to like this hotel, reviews were great so I’m wildly confused. Check in was interesting, I gave my last name (at 2pm) and one of the ladies snapped at me that the room wasn’t ready, the other woman reminded her that it was actually ready. Checked in, dirty towel laying in entryway, 2 light fixtures not working, missing curtain, bathroom old and gross. No central AC in bedroom, wall unit that was so loud and smelled like burnt hair. Ventured down to the pool and hot tub (as advertised) and found out it was neither. It’s one lukewarm small body of water that they call a ‘spa’. Paper thin walls, heard every word from the neighbor, continental breakfast looked recycled, old strawberries, rubber eggs. Prob one of the worst places I’ve ever stayed. Not sure what this review will do other than warn others as there are so many things wrong with this hotel that it isn’t feasible to be good.

They are in the middle of a massive remodel, dirty and noisy during the day
