Событие собирает около 40 000 участников на коридор Congress Avenue и в окрестности на парад, за которым следует фестиваль с несколькими сценами, общественными организациями, фудкортами и полным набором активностей, связанных с крупным прайдом. Август в Остине жаркий — температура может превысить +38°C — но событие собирает преданных участников, понимающих, что видимость в Техасе — это политический акт не меньше, чем празднование. Austin Pride управляется одноимённой некоммерческой организацией, продюсирующей событие с 1997 года и координирующей более широкую программу Месяца прайда.
