No organic/biodynamically grown menu. This is all poisoned by chemical pesticides and herbicides, which harm human health slowly over time.
My partner and I had a fantastic experience at Alinea. Fine dining at its best! The food was exceptional, innovative, and beautifully executed. Can’t wait to go back again❣️
There are no words. Truly one of the most extraordinary dining experiences I've ever had. Alinea is an example of dining at its absolute highest level. The food was delicious, but more than that, it was creative, surprising, thoughtful. We experienced pairing after pairing of ingredients and flavors that, on paper, seemed unlikely to work together, yet somehow came together beautifully. To me, it felt like a statement about what contemporary cuisine can be when creativity, technique, and vision are all operating at their peak. The service was impeccable from beginning to end. Course after course, they never missed a beat. We were fortunate enough to enjoy some truly exceptional wines, many of which I'll be seeking out for my own collection. The sommelier was knowledgeable, approachable, and passionate, offering insight into each wine, why it was selected, how it interacted with the food, and what made it special. The service team was equally impressive. Every dish was explained with care: the ingredients, preparation, seasoning, and sometimes even the thinking behind it. They checked in throughout the evening with thoughtful questions and genuine curiosity about our experience rather than scripted hospitality. This was food as theater, certainly, but without a hint of pretense. Every detail reflected an extraordinary level of skill and execution. What could have felt intimidating instead felt warm, personal, and welcoming. And then there was dessert. I've seen photos. I've watched videos. None of them prepare you for the spectacle unfolding in front of you. What arrived was equal parts culinary achievement, visual art, and celebration. There was color, movement, glittering detail, snowfall-like flourishes, and a sense of wonder that transformed the table into a stage. The room seemed to disappear for a moment. It was joyful, playful, beautiful, and unlike anything I've experienced. I was celebrating my birthday, and the team made it feel genuinely special. Throughout the evening, I felt cared for in a way that is increasingly rare. The entire experience felt personalized down to the last drop in the glass. I've celebrated birthdays before. I've had wonderful meals, too. But it's rare I have been moved to tears simply because I was happy. Thank you to everyone who made the experience possible. You gave me more than a meal. You gave me a memory that will last a lifetime.
Food overall was up to Michelin standard. Really liked the king crab with it sauce, can literally lick of all the sauce if I weren’t in a fine dining restaurant. The soup at first was quite ordinary until I get a taste of the nuggets/ jelly of golden honey which was excellent. Didn’t like the crack maize snow, although it tasted good hated how it sticks to your tongue…….the dessert is very gimmick they do a modern art style of painting on the table and you just directly eat off the table like a kid not sure is hygienic but sure is fun to be like a kid once in a while. The rest of the dishes is just your usual fine dining taste of food. Also like their non-alcoholic pairing, they are quite interesting that makes you feel you are not missing out when you can’t drink alcohol. Service wise is a mix feeling, some staff are more professional and friendly than the others. Atmosphere wise comfortable seatings, loved their restrooms with Japanese wash-let. Price wise is a bit over priced compared to other similar restaurants.
I thoroughly enjoyed nearly every aspect of the experience. The food, atmosphere, and service were all exceptional. One point of confusion, however, was that several staff members repeatedly asked whether we were celebrating a special occasion, even after I had indicated multiple times that we were not. While I understand the intent was likely to personalize the experience, it began to feel somewhat unnecessary. Sometimes guests simply choose to dine out for the enjoyment of the experience itself. I was also slightly uncomfortable with comments that seemed to imply concerns about affordability. Perhaps this was not the intended message, but it came across as an assumption about what I might be willing or able to purchase. If I am choosing to dine at an establishment of this caliber on a whim, I am comfortable making additional purchases, including specialty items and beverages. In fact, my interest in purchasing items in-house was largely motivated by a desire to further support the staff through a more generous gratuity, as leaving cash felt somewhat out of place in the setting. That said, the head staff member was outstanding. He was poised, attentive, charming, and exceptionally knowledgeable. His professionalism and warmth elevated an already memorable experience, and he left a lasting positive impression.
Dined here for our 30th wedding anniversary. One of the most incredible culinary experiences of my life. Service, impeccable, our sommelier was incredibly knowledgeable and the wines were paired perfectly. The food is innovative, delicious and looks like fine art. Highly recommended.
