Las Mananitas

I really want to love this place but I cannot recommend it. It is extremely overpriced compared to other comparable options in the area for good Mexican food. For example, tonight I paid $25 for chicken quesadillas which were 3 half tortillas filled with chicken and cheese, rice and beans on the side. Nothing special. I asked for a side of sour cream, which I would assume would be complimentary with an entree or maybe a dollar or two, but when I received the check I saw I was charged $5 for a condiment sized side of sour cream, which is CRAZY, imo. Service is friendly but slow, even when the restaurant is dead. I’ve tried coming a few times and this will likely be my last.

The portions on the new menu are a let down. Very disappointed....kinda pricy the small portions. 3 chimichangas so dry and small my dinner didn't even take 5 min to eat. Left unhappy and still hungry

We asked for limes for our tacos and were charged $3. Service was slow too. There are spots waaaaay more tasty and way more fairly priced than here.

Waited 25 minutes for service, never even got a drink order in. They need to work on service.

By far, the worst Mexican restaurant in the history of the United States

Ordered the enchiladas verdes and was up charged for the enchiladas suizas. The waiter did not make it clear that we would be charged more when we were ordering and then when we called it out on the check, he proceeded to argue with us and told us we "should have known." Please make it clear when items are extra - when you don't do so, it feels deceptive and that you're hoping people just won't notice or care enough to call it out. We liked this place before but will not be visiting again.

We had a group of 10 people on a Tuesday night, so the restaurant was not overly busy. Multiple people in our group had issues with the service, food & drinks, but I'm only going to speak on my own issues. My husband ordered the burrito suizo dinner & the plate came out looking like enchiladas. Our server accidentally gave the plate to another friend who ordered enchiladas. Once the server realized the error, it was already too late because our friend had started eating. So the server took the plate back to the kitchen to re-make it. The second plate was covered in onions when we already told the server that my husband can't eat onions. Once again, the plate was taken back to the kitchen. When my husband finally received his food, it was fresh/hot, but their idea of a burrito suizo is 3 individually rolled tortillas with meat inside, covered in sauce & cheese. Bland & boring. Not what the husband was hoping for. Moving on to my plate, I ordered the chicken mole dinner. Again, everything was fresh/hot, but they gave me a LARGE plate with 2 thin cut pieces of chicken and a LOT of molé sauce, plus a side of rice & beans. While the flavor was good, the amount of food was more suited for a lunch special, not a dinner entrée. The lime margaritas were very good, had so much ice! Over all, while the food & drinks tasted good and the atmosphere was nice, everything was way overpriced for what you receive.

I recently went to this restaurant and unfortunately had a terrible experience. The food was overpriced and extremely salty. I dined with two other people, and we ordered enchiladas and tacos. We were unable to finish our meals because the saltiness was overwhelming. The rice was not undercooked, but the food was inferior, given its prime location on Halsted. I would recommend avoiding this restaurant if you want to avoid disappointment.
