I would rate the hotel 5 stars. The service was always excellent, and all the staff members were very friendly and helpful. We would gladly come back anytime. Mahalo. ☺️🌺

Horrible Air BnB experience with "Hotel" in its name. I booked a room with this "hotel" for 6 days through Chase Travels in May of 2026. This was my first time travelling to Hawaii, which the flight from New York took almost 12 hours. Upon arrival and checking in, reception guy asked if I received a text or an email for the room's passcode, which I did not. Reception says that he will text the owner. When I asked what owner, reception explained to me that the rooms of this hotel has different owners, and is basically ran like an Air BnB. Waited for 20 minutes or so, still no response from the owner. I asked if this was normal, where the guest is left stranded, the reception guy says "yea, this guy. I always have difficulty communicating with him." Guess he felt bad for me, so he gave me previous codes for me to try. Took the elevator up and luckily, the code worked, and I was able to gain access to the room. First thing I noticed in the room was overflowing toilet, with water all over the bathroom floor. Go back down to reception and told him about the bathroom situation, the guy shrugs and says "there is nothing I can do, I will text the owner again". I asked if I can get his number, and he gives it to me. When I called the owner's number, goes straight to automated voicemail. As I was leaving my name and number, the owner picks up the phone. When I explained my frustration and annoyance, he states he will get his worker to get it fixed. The worker texted me, and said he will be come to the room in 1 hour. I wait in the room for him to come. Takes him almost 2 hours to get to the room. Takes him about 20 minutes to get the toilet fixed, and another 20 minutes to use up most of the towels in the room to clean up the bathroom. I have just wasted 3 hours in my room, waiting to get the toilet fixed and bathroom cleaned. I told the worker that I will need more towels, since he used most of the towels to clean up the bathroom. He gave me the manager's number, and he told me that he will get me more towels, and come back tomorrow and get the bathroom bleached. I called the manager and complained to her that I never received the passcode to the room, and had to wait 20 minutes to get into the room. She said she never got email from Chase, so she was unable to reach out to me. Regarding the toilet, she was aware of the situation, because the cleaner said that the toilet overflowed and was going to have the plumber get it fixed before I arrived. (Which obviously did not happen). I told her that I just want more towels for my 6 day stay, and also there was no waste basket for me to put trash in. She said she will have the cleaner drop it off the same day. Does not happen. I ask her again the next day, and she said "I am sending you towels thru Uber". Uber leaves off mere 2 towels in front of my room at 11pm. I texted her about the waste basket, and she said it will be dropped off the next day. So it takes 2 days for me to get mere 2 extra towels, and 3 days to get a waste basket. Had to use the desk to pile up whatever trash I had until I got the waste basket. Oh, and remember how the worker said he will also drop me off more towels and get the bathroom floor bleached? Never came back, and never answered my texts the next day. So, if you expect a "Hotel" experience, where the bed will be made every day, or get a fresh towel every day, stay away. On top of that, the room's light stand had a remote which did not work, nor was it connected to a light switch on the wall, so I had to physically disconnect the light from the wall if I wanted it turned off, and connect it again every time I wanted the light on. Fridge had a bad smell from whatever food previous guests stored. On the desk, there was a "Wi-Fi Password" with nothing written. I had to look behind the router to figure out myself which Wi-Fi to connect to with its password. Only thing great about this hotel is location. It is half a block away from the beach, has ABC convenience store on the corner, and it is opposite of the W-Line bus stop.

This was the perfect place to stay in Oahu. Only a minute walk to the beach and a nice rooftop area to chill on. My wife and I had a great time here!

Loud. Beautiful view. Dated room with odd and tight layout. Efficient pool. Close to many activities. Secure parking is appreciated. Street music and noises all hours of the night and was very disrupting to sleep.

At first we got here and thought this place was great. Great location great people. Rooms were outdated but that’s ok. Only sleeping and showering here. But there’s the problem. We could only shower with warm water part of our stay. Three days out of our eight days. We would go down and tell the front desk and they kept saying we will tell someone. The last was very nice but unfortunately nice did not fix the water temp. Then there was the bar on the floor. We have stayed in establishments with bars on the floor or just below. Never had an issue. But when everyone is leaving the bar it turns into social hour at midnight till closing. Even thought the hotel has quite hours from 10 pm till morning. We would tell the front desk and they say we will tell security. Then when you call and complain about it. They transfer you to someone named Mark. Mark then says there is nothing he can do about it. That is up to the bar. So what we thought was going to be a decent place to start turned into the worst place we have stayed. And the lack of customer service from the front desk and the guy named Mark Howard who emails and ask if there is anything you need. Basically if all you want to do is keep your belongings safe and sleep for about half the night. This is the place. If you want to get clean for dinner and get rest for the next day. I don’t recommend.

Unbelievablely beautiful. Our 4th time here, never a disappointment. St. Augustine by the Sea is well worth one hour in church.

Great location, short walk to beach! Room had everything we needed, comfortable bed, kitchen had all the basics. They even provided beach towels and chairs! Would definitely return.

The description says there's a partial ocean view, but you can't see anything at all. As the photos show, is the pool of the neighboring hotel what they mean by "ocean view"? The shower never had hot water. As others have commented, the air conditioner is noisy, and the noise from the construction outside and the neighboring room was bothersome, especially when trying to shower. There's a kitchen, but it's not very suitable for cooking. They didn't offer any assistance, so I won't be staying here again. The only good thing was that it was close to the sea.

If you’re considering staying at Waikiki Grand Castle HOTEL, be aware that this is NOT a traditional hotel. It operates more like an Airbnb, with individually owned units — meaning your experience can vary a lot depending on which room you get. If you’re as unlucky as I was, here’s what you might deal with: - This is not a real hotel. Each unit has a different owner, so there is no consistent service, standards, or support. - Check-in was extremely inconvenient. We were required to CALL the host upon arrival, but as international tourists we didn’t have a SIM card. The lobby staff would not allow us to use a phone, so we were forced to go out and buy a SIM card just to contact the host and access the room. - Hidden fees: Even though we had already fully paid through Booking, we were charged an additional $274 cleaning fee over the phone. This fee was NOT disclosed on Booking. We had no choice but to pay it, because otherwise they wouldn’t give us the code to enter the room. - The “cleaning fee” makes no sense — no one came to clean the room during our entire 10-day stay. Not even once. - The room looks NOTHING like the photos. There is no balcony and no city view, despite what was advertised. - The air conditioning unit is extremely loud. We had to turn it off at night just to be able to sleep. - The curtains are very thin, so the hallway lights come straight into the room at night — it feels like daytime and makes it very hard to rest. - There was a paper with the Wi-Fi password, but it was incorrect, which made things even more frustrating. - The door lock system is unreliable. Even when entering the correct code, it often wouldn’t open or lock properly. We would spend 15–20 minutes just trying to lock the door before leaving. - We reported the lock issue to the host, but nothing was actually fixed. Housekeeping came to “check” it, but the problem remained unresolved. Overall, this was the worst accommodation experience we’ve had. I would absolutely NOT recommend staying here. The only positive aspects were the location and the terrace.

The hotel location is fabulous and the staff were always attentive. I rented a room from Airbnb and the room needed some updating and TLC with furniture, cooktop and flooring/baseboards. Parking onsite was excellent for the purposes I needed. Top floor balcony was amazing and a great place to eat and relax. I needed a kitchen for food allergies and I was grateful for this. I would consider staying at the hotel again. Easy to get to H1 to visit my sister in Koko area. Thank you!!

Perfect location!!! It’s a fun spot, and only half a block from the beach and very close to everything!
