Valley View Motel

I would give 5 stars to this place - very humble and honest people run this place , this is sort of airbnb and the price you get is unmatched. Location is perfect - 20 minutes to port Townsend and about 1.40 min drive to Olympic - the motels are located right in front of a lake , they have goats , hen and dog around their place which give very cottage and farm vibe to the place ! The place was exceptionally clean and fresh - they have little kitchen which is well equipped. Loved the place - felt safe as it’s right off the H101. Recommend !

Original Review for July 2023: We stayed here a few months back in the summer and had a wonderful time. Quiet, clean, affordable, vintage, with goats, chickens, cats, and a nice view of the nature preserve on the bay. Emphasis on affordable, we paid under $300 for four nights. Location is meh, off the side of a highway but you don't hear it much in the cottage, and be aware while there is plenty to see and do it can be a 10-20+ minute car ride away each time. We watched plenty of Scarecrow Video horror rentals on the little VHS/DVD player CRT TV. It was the perfect setting. One of their kitties visited us and kept us company in our cottage while we were packing up to leave. There is a (mostly) abandoned historic cemetery nearby that is so peaceful, and so many equally historic and gorgeous state parks. I have no idea when, but we will most certainly be back, this place was a real treat and a cheap hidden gem on the Peninsula. EDIT: I also wanted to say the power went out for several hours because a tree hit the line right nearby, and the owners were very attentive to the situation and let us know what was going on. Good honest hardworking folks own and run this place. Stop by and give them some support. Edit 2025: The reviews complaining about how dated this place is just astound me. To be honest, the datedness of this place is what keeps me coming back. It gives so much character in a world that is increasingly bland and modern. Yeah so what the TVs are 20+ years old. Just bring your DVDs and VHS' and you'll be just fine. Plus the fact it's so cheap who cares about some TV anyways. And this is coming from someone who is Gen Z. You aren't that addicted to modern technology, are you?

Place needs some updating, tvs are 20+ years old, dont have any channels, and wifi did not work well. Exteriors of cottages look dilapidated as well, a few simple updates would improve this place a lot.

Stayed here with my dog over 4th of July because where I live it's a war zone on that holiday. Between fireworks, drunkeen parties and guns it's impossible to sleep and scares my dog half to death. So I make plans to stay elsewhere that night. In May I booked the last room in the hotel - possibly the last in the county! I told the owners I would be a late check in as I was getting off a 12 hour shift and needed to pick up my dog ten head out to the hotel. I called ahead and said I was on my way. I arrived at 9pm and they checked me in no problems. The cabin (cabin 3) is adorable. I couldn't get the TV and DVD player to work but I had cell service so I didn't mind. I watched videos on my phone instead. I thought I wouldn't have cell service but I did! I put my dog in her thunder vest and settled in. The shower was great! Very clean bathroom made for a 5 star shower after a long shift. There were extra pillows which was nice. Here's the deal: these are folks who run this place. They are operating a small business out of their home on their property. In this economy it's hard to keep a small business open regardless of industry. This is the country: small town, friendly and simple as possible. If you want a concierge, champagne and turn down service Seattle has that. These are good people who operate this motel. Support small businesses!

Like staying in your uncle's lake cabin. It's rustic and simple but nice. Good privacy. Very kind managers.

This motel is right next to Discovery Bay. It offers simple and convenient accommodations, and even has kitchen facilities. You can dine under the big tree in front and enjoy the beautiful scenery.

Dangerously cozy. My only regret is not staying longer.

Very basic but very clean it is on a farm, no WiFi but you can use your phone good connection all utensils are provided it was a very enjoyable stay sort of unplugged but great value for the money I would highly recommend do not expect much because you will disappoint your self no over charging for pets as a matter of fact very pet friendly
