About this place Valley View Motel

Valley View Motel is a small motel on a farm property on State Route 20, just outside Port Townsend on the Olympic Peninsula. Rooms are cottage-style with kitchenettes, and the listing mentions free coffee, popcorn and parking. It is a mainstream gay-friendly motel, not a gay venue. Reviews are decent (4.0 from about 80). Port Townsend's Victorian downtown and ferry terminal are a short drive away, and the town has a relaxed, arts-oriented population. You will need a car, as there is little within walking distance of the motel.

If you are looking for something very different, this would be a great little place to stay. This place is a rustic farm with a tranquil environment to spend some quiet time. The unit we stayed in is a cabin with full bathroom, full kitchen with pots, pans and utensils. The bedroom has a queen bed and a twin bed. The living room/kitchen has a sofa-bed. There is a tube TV with a VHS+DVD player (the hosts have a good selection of movies to lend out). Everything is old-style but reasonable clean. Like a lot of people already said: it's not for everyone. Be advised that there are six of these cabins on the property, but appears only one cabin is in operation. The other cabins look run down and empty. The property owners are elderly, probably do not have the time and energy to fix up the other cabins.

Great little place to stay. If your looking for someplace like the Hilton this is not for you! This place is an old plantation style home. I grew up in a house like this. It was clean and has a full kitchen. Also pots and pans and utensils for you to use. They also have popcorn 🍿 I will definitely be going back. I loved this place!!! Recommend for a get away from the city or just a nice relaxing place to get away.

THE WORST EXPERIENCE I HAVE EVER HAD. I TRULY CANT IMAGINE HOW THIS PLACE HAS EVEN CLOSE TO THE RATING IT DOES. I SIMPLY CALLED AND ASKED TO SPEAK TO THE OWNER/ MANAGER & WAS GREETED IN THE MOST ARRAGONT MANNER POSSIBLE. "WHY ARE YOU CALLING & YOU MUST NOT KNOW WHO YOU ARE SPEAKING TO." HE ENDED UP BEING BELIGRANTLY YELLING AT ME AND BEING SO RUDE. I HAVE NEVER BEEN OR SEEN THE PROPERTY. I WAS LOOKING TO MAKE A DECISION OF POTENTIAL WORK IN THE AREA. IM NOT SURE WHAT THE ISSUE WAS BUT IT WAS HIGHLY INAPPROPRIATE AND RUDE. I WOULD NEVER WANT TO STAY SOMEWHERE THAT SOMEONE THINGS ITS OK TO SPEAK TO SOMEONE SO RUDELY.

Cabin was unsanitary and not fit to stay in. The bedding was covered in hair, there was mold, and what seemed to be a bug infestation.

I am rating the Valley View Motel with 5 stars for its nostalgia, location, and value. Holiday Inn Express, it is not. The proprietor was a pleasure to meet and did a great job keeping our cottage clean and well equipped. It's located as a perfect gateway to the Olympic Peninsula at the crossroads of Highways 101, 20, and 104, with access from Olympia, Bremerton, Port Townsend, and Port Angeles in various directions.
