Texas Bear Round-Up, Dallas’s annual bear circuit event, happens every March. It’s one of the oldest bear gatherings in the American South, taking over Oak Lawn and nearby gay venues. Bears come from all over Texas, the South, and the rest of the country for a weekend of parties, social events, and a specific kind of circuit culture.

The whole thing runs Thursday through Sunday, with parties spread across different Dallas gay spots. It’s a community gathering, sure, but with the full infrastructure of a circuit event. Texas Bear Round-Up has been going for over twenty years; it’s a big deal on the Southern circuit calendar. You’ll usually find events at Tracks (for the bigger circuit nights), neighborhood bars along Cedar Springs, and hotels in Oak Lawn and Uptown. People stay in Oak Lawn hotels for the whole weekend.
