We went back recently to where we met 30 years at the Round Up, hasn't changed which was cool, even ran into some old friends from back in the day.
I’ve been coming to Round Up for a couple of years, and tonight’s experience was incredibly disappointing. Throughout the night, the staff repeatedly encouraged everyone to order “last drinks,” giving reminders at 15, 10, and 5 minutes before closing. With about 3 minutes left, my friends and I decided to order one final drink. Our order was accepted without any issue, but almost immediately afterward, we were told in an aggressive tone that we needed to leave. If you’re going to rush customers out the door immediately, why continue selling drinks just minutes before closing? It felt misleading and didn’t make much sense. What was even more upsetting was the way multiple staff members spoke to us. Their approach was unnecessarily aggressive and made us feel unwelcome. Round Up has always been a place where I felt safe and enjoyed the friendly atmosphere, so this experience was shocking and disappointing. I completely understand that businesses have closing procedures and that everyone wants to go home at the end of the night. However, there’s a respectful way to communicate with customers. I hope management addresses how guests are treated at closing because tonight’s experience was far from what I’ve come to expect.
Good vibes. Fun environment, music, dancing, talented bartenders.
