Brazil has strong legal protections and major LGBTQ+ scenes in big cities. São Paulo hosts one of the world's largest Pride parades. Attitudes vary regionally — south and southeastern cities tend to be more progressive than the north and northeast.

São Paulo Pride (Parada do Orgulho LGBT+ de São Paulo) is the largest Pride in the world, drawing 3-5 million people, held in late May or early June. Rio Pride is in November. Florianópolis, Belo Horizonte and Salvador also hold major Prides.
