evo Hotel Salt Lake

Nice location close to downtown. Cool urban vibe. Refurbished factory building and our room had no usable window or natural light.

The concept isn't bad of the hotel and was interesting, but staying overnight wasn't a good experience. Coming from one of the major chain hotels, we booked a room with two queens. The beds seemed to be more of a full size than queen size. If it is a queen, its a cheaper bed and is smaller so keep that in mind. Our beddings had a lot of dust all over them which caused us to sneeze most of the night and was very off putting. There were flys in our room as well as the bathroom napkin holder hanging off the wall. Keep in mind there is no iron/ironing board, microwave, or fridge. I feel like that should be disclosed, and if it was I may have missed it.

Staff here was great. A neat hotel and has the climbing gym and skate park in it along with shops, which was cool. The location to the area is not the best with the surrounding construction. With the hotel being the industrial vibe the concrete floors, etc allows for sound to travel a bit so you can hear every noise in the hall/surrounding rooms bounce around since there’s nothing to absorb it. With the unattached bottoms of the bar doors on the bathrooms people easily slammed them. I was down the hall from the bar, which carried a lot of noise when we were trying to sleep. Overall cool vibe, but noisy

If you plan on getting a good nights rest, I absolutely cannot recommend this place. Nice staff and cool location, but very cheap mattresses, frames, and sheets. Walls are thin and you can hear neighbors on both sides no matter what the hour. Rough week due to not getting sleep.

Meh. All in all this is more or less a modern motel (rather than a hotel) - room was clean, Wi-Fi was fast, and bed was comfortable, but that's about it. Housekeeping service wasn't offered during a recent five-night stay. Security felt a bit odd given the way the hotel, bouldering gym, and Evo store permeate together...essentially anyone could walk up to your room. The lack of windows didn't bother me as much as the lack of soundproofing...there's a reason why earplugs were offered. Parking situation was atrocious. Expect to circle around aimlessly until you find a spot.

Hotel is well located and has a European backpacker vibe. Building is cool and architecture is interesting. Room was clean, quiet, and comfortable. That said, the building itself is not clean. There is a very thick layer of dust and grime on support beams, hanging decor (like the disco balls), and flags. Even the edges of the stairs where people don’t walk are dirty. I’ve been in a house fire so windowless rooms, while they may be ok for others, are anxiety-provoking for me. I called prior to confirming the reservation to ensure the room I was booking had a window. When I arrived, I was put into a room without a window. The front desk clerk had to come check my room to see that it didn’t actually have a window. He initially told me they had no other rooms and my option was to call the third party booking service to resolve. After awhile, he moved us to a room with a window and said he called someone who hadn’t checked in yet to see if they were ok going in the windowless room (if this was you…I’m sorry). Thankfully, they were but given that I called to make arrangements at the time of booking, this shouldn’t have been at the mercy of another guest. At this point, I don’t know how I feel about the stay. Cool vibe, staff did work out the problem, clean room, but this was offset by the dirty building, reservation mix up, etc.

Very different Hotel! The Staff were accommodating and nice. The hotel is a very rough place of SLC, the parking to the hotel is not good at all. You have to walk very far if there are no spots on the side street. We didn’t feel comfortable leaving our car parked overnight due to the rough area. Just over all not a very family friendly hotel, we have a 3 month old baby and while they had play pins the hotel was just filled with young kids skating. It smelt very bad throughout the hotel as well like a sweaty locker room. The room we stayed in had no window, and we could hear everything in the room next to us which kept our baby up. Just overall not a good experience for my family. You will love it if you are under 20 with no kids.

We had the pleasure of booking the Evo for a night in Salt Lake City . The staff was exceptional and made the stay so welcoming and fun . The easy texting for communication was the best . The atmosphere is epic . I wish there was a place like this in Whistler BC . They cater to outdoor sports have a yoga studio rock climb g and indoor skateboarding. The roof top patio bar was also a big bonus . This by far was one of my favorite experiences in traveling to the USA

I can't say enough great things about my stay at the evo hotel in Salt Lake City. The room was extremely comfortable and has minimalist but thoughtful design. I took advantage of the free intro pass as well to the Bouldering Project and used their gym for a workout while I was there. (It makes all other hotel gym facilities look like a joke! There was a full gym, including assault bikes and rowing machines and a huge selection of weights—not to mention a TON of space to stretch out.) There's also a sauna (one located in the women's and one in the men's bathroom). The sauna is really nice (wood inside) and you can tell it's clean and well maintained. The Sauna is included with your stay. But beyond the actual facilities, it's the people that made the stay amazing. From shopping in the evo store to just mingling with the other guests and employees...it might sound cheesy but everyone seems legitimately happy to be there! The location is an easy on/off to the 215 and the area around the hotel has a ton of great new restaurants. I lived in SLC for 12 years and can't help but think I would have stayed longer had those great restaurants been there when I was around. Check out the Woodbine Food Hall for easy, close by grab and go or the central 9th area near by has a great new spot that's James Beard-worthy called "Bar Nohm." About the rooms: While at first I was skeptical that the room I was in didn't have any windows, it allowed for an extremely restful sleep and the way they have decorated the rooms and added lighting really made the room quite calming. In the end, the room serves it's purpose: deep rest after a full day of playing in the Wasatch! There are nice common areas for work including a huge couch section upstairs. It can be a little loud with the Bouldering Project right there, but the rooms are extremely quiet.

Super cute place close to downtown. It was a little noisy but the place is clean and the beds are comfy. My biggest issue is the room I rented, so called crash pad, has the lowest ceilings I’ve ever seen in a hotel. I’m 6’ and my friend is 5’ and we both smacked our heads on the beams in the slanted ceilings. It’s pretty dangerous and an accessibility issue. Just a heads up for tall folks
