Hotel Gibbs Downtown San Antonio Riverwalk

The service was wonderful. The room and bathroom were clean, comfortable, and very well maintained. The breakfast was incredibly good, with a wide variety of options and all of excellent quality. On the downside, there is construction going on very close to the Alamo, and the work starts in the early morning, so the noise woke us up during our stay. Also, parking is not free and costs $39 USD per night.

Great location, close to everything. definitely recommend to valet park, the street parking is sketchy and over priced. Staff is friendly and knowledgeable. Would definitely stay here again. The rooms were acceptable, we did find an eyelash on the side of the bed, so I would just keep an eye out for those hard to spot places.

The menu at the hotel isn't accurate with the price of wine at the bar plus valet has to be paid online and add a tip ...we wanted to tip cash in hand so we decline the online tip ..i guess the valet guy thought it was a zero tip didn't notify us when car was ready and didn't offer any help ..we there for a good 20 minutes before I noticed car was parked ...we loaded up while it was raining..it's ok ..we would stay again but yea tip online so they can offer help

I stayed here with my wife a few months ago. We visited SA for our aniversary to go to a Spurs game. The staff is so kind and helpfull! Our room was very comfortable and clean. The hotel has a nice vintage vibe and its so lovely. Location wise is perfect! Of you are hanguing out in downtown the place is great no need to use the car. Parking can be tricky but they offer valet service at and additional cost and besides there are lots of parking spaces (we went on weekdays so idk is on weekends is harder). Great experience would stay again for sure

Wouldn’t stay here again. We had to switch rooms 3 times due to issues in each one. The first room that we got during check-in, one of the beds was dirty and 3 of the 4 pillows were all yellow. We requested to be switched and the 2nd room we got , the AC started leaking! The 3rd room we got, the AC was extremely loud and we heard a lot of trucks throughout the night! It was difficult to sleep (and sleep in) but we kept the room as we were frustrated with the quality of the rooms we were being given and disappointed the front desk didn’t offer some kind of an upgrade/compensation after the first 2 room issues. The bathroom in all 3 rooms was also very different. They just got progressively worse as we switched rooms. The first room, the shower was a separate section than the sink and toilet. The 2nd room, the shower was in the section with the sink and toilet (like normal). The 3rd room, the sink was in the hallway of the room and the shower and toilet were sectioned together. Not only that, the shower and toilet room was SO DAMN SMALL, it was not a pleasant experience at all. The best part of this hotel is the location and most of the staff were nice/friendly.

My husband and I stayed this past wknd(May2026) for our 10th wedding anniversary and a friend's graduation. Perfect spot for restaurants, shops and many attractions all in walking distance. We had a complimentary wine tasting, LOVED the jasmine wine. We had an AMAZING breakfast with everything and more you could possibly want and it all tasted great! Well, if I'm being 💯 the muffins were not to my liking, very generic tasting. But I had thee best fluffiest eggs I've ever come across, at a hotel. Our room was in a corner(King jr suite) and lived up to its name with privacy, didn't hear nobody! We will be back!

This is a great place to stay near the Alamo.

I had a very upsetting experience at this hotel. My room went unserviced for two days, and when I finally requested cleaning, I stepped out for an hour to run an errand. When I returned, I discovered that $272 had been taken from a bag I had tucked away under my clothes. Only $149 was left behind, and there was money scattered on the floor. I had to involve the police to file a report. While management did eventually refund my final night’s stay, it does not make up for the fact that my belongings were not secure in my room. I would strongly caution others about the lack of security and the housekeeping oversight.

My husband and I stayed at this hotel from April 30 thru May 3rd, 2026. We loved our stay! We found our room beautiful- very clean, nice firm bed and spacious bathroom- the shower was wonderful!! Lastly, the breakfast was phenomenal- it offered everything you could possibly want, and the operators were always keeping up and tidying up. Also, this hotel is only 2 walking distance from the Alamo!! It doesn't get any better than that! ♥️♥️♥️❤️

Hotel was nice ...front desk receptionist was rude... not to mention a construction and parking.
