This place really is a great help and assistance to the community. Thank You for all you do. A lot of great volunteers as well!

If you are displaced from housing and in need of resources then The Compass Center could be the hand of help you need. They serve free lunch at 12 PM through 12:40 PM. The meals are perdomently hot meal's. Also they provide at the facility free washing and drying of your clothes. They can also provide a solid place for you to receive your mail. Majority of the staff are very caring individuals. Be prepared for random outburst of negative corals. It's just apart the population of the demographics of the people they serve. Nothing to serious one might cut in line. Overall it's mission is phenomenal. They also give the chance for you to come in and volunteer, it's why I was there. I'm thankful they gave me a chance to partake in giving my service of hospitality.

This place is totally reckless. Nobody here cares I came and use the services of this place multiple times every time they were a problem. Never with me, but always with someone. Some of the staff are OK but most do not care. They are just here for a paycheck. I came to do my laundry here and noticed the sign on the door that they open says they open from 7 to 4. So now I am here at 6:50 and it is now 7:20 and they tell me the sign is old and they don’t open until 830. Why do you not take the sign down then it’s because no one cares they said they’ve been stopped doing it.Now I wasted an hour and a half coming here for nothing and have to wait another hour and a half to do my laundry. What a shame.

This place is great. You can shower here everyday from Monday to Saturday. Monday through Friday from 8:30 to 3pm. Saturdays in the mornings. They also have meals as everyday weekday. They also have case management services as well. Great people and employees that work here.

Sometimes you can tell when people working somewhere have checked out. That is the case here. The staff do not care about the people they serve. They are paid, they are funded, and yet they routinely choose convenience over the needs of those coming in for help. In the laundry room, posted hours are 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., but staff stop running loads at 1:40 p.m.—2 hours and 20 minutes before closing. A load takes roughly 40 minutes, yet they stop arbitrarily. No one is counting loads. No one explains why the limit exists. They simply stop when it suits them, regardless of the people waiting or the posted schedule. In the dining room, dinner is posted from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m., but the food often comes out late. Fifteen minutes after service begins, staff start shouting countdowns: 30 minutes left, 25, 20. By 4:15, people are asked to leave—even though service ends at 4:30. These interruptions are disrespectful and unnecessary. Staff support one another, deflect complaints, and hide behind “policy” or “board decisions.” There is no clear channel to give feedback, and concerns are ignored. The effect is consistent: the staff marginalize those they are meant to serve, adding unnecessary difficulty to people already facing hardship. In short, the staff here are checked out. They do not prioritize the people who rely on these services. Their indifference is systemic, visible in daily operations, and damaging to those who need care the most.

After being homeless for the last 4 years, it was nice to come inside to a place where I felt safe and where I could relax. Not worrying about someone stealing my stuff while I was sleeping, things like that go a long way toward peace of mind. So happy and grateful I found this shelter. 😄
