Wayward Coffeehouse

A full menu of really solid vegan diner food! A full menu of (good!) non-vegan food too, but vegan diner is really their whole raison d'etra and they nail it. Great coffee too, just like you'd hope for from a diner.

We were visiting Seattle and even after hearing all the fuss we decided to give it a shot. Not disappointing. Johnny was fantastic and they had the right tunes on.🎵 The food was very good. There’s not many vegan places open in the area in general; we understand how difficult is to keep a 100% vegan business efficiently open. The PB cheesecake was a hit. Parking in the back of the building. Hop into I5 very quickly.

Happy we found this place during our work trip! We traveled from Texas and had no idea on vegan friendly restaurants. Breakfast was delicious but you definitely have to try their wings. Great customer service, everyone was so kind and attentive.

terrible service, rude staff

I've been meaning to try Wayward Vegan for years, since I've heard a lot of good things. Pancakes were good, but the vegan butter was just regular margarine, which is disappointing since there's so many tasty vegan butters available. I wanted coffee with creamer, which was an extra dollar, and it wasn't enough alt milk for a coffee refill. Last, and most disappointing, the crunch wrap had no crunch, the gravy had an off putting taste, and the textures were mushy. I really wanted to like this, since I've haven't had a good vegan brunch at a restaurant, but everything was just ok. I don't think I'll be returning.

Damn shame the place has been downgraded from fully vegan. "A new chapter, vegan-friendly, made for everyone"? What a hollow statement...vegan food is already suitable for anyone, but with this change Wayward no longer suitable for me. Grow a pair and stick to what made this place good. Old review: Ourstanding dishes - the Infamous Bowl was like eating a southern chicken dinner like childhood again! Staff was lovely as well, and their furniture is cleverly up-cycled...loved the bowling alley table.

I went with a vegan friend. I have a mild soy allergy so I was expecting for my selection to be limited, but they had nothing. I am fine with small amounts but can't have soy milk, or soy protein based meat substitutes. They told me I could have "a bowl of fruit". Soy is one of the most common allergie, so it is unfortunate that they are not more inclusive. Avoid if you have a soy allergy.

This place has the best vegan food I've ever had. It has a wide variety of amazing food and would 100% recommend to everyone.

Vegan Mac n cheese was delicious but definitely had to ask for extra salt 🧂 Some items are not too pricey but a lot of the dishes are quite expensive so keep that in mind.

chicken and waffles with no butter, BBQ sandwich with a child size squirt of BBQ sauce. pretty tough for $20.

Erstwhile vegan restaurant that "gave up" on their entire vegan brand soon after a corporate takeover while retaining the zombified branding of the once-vegan, once-family-owned Wayward marque. DON'T BE FOOLED. The prices are bad, the food is worse, and there's a huge cross contamination risk in a kitchen too small to safely separate meat from plant based items

Edit: Was great. No longer 100% vegan. Won't be back. Great service and great diner food to satisfy the vegan soul.
