Very nice hotel with old school type rooms, very comfy and cosy The hotel is well located from the center and close to the station, it's also pretty easy to access the old part of the town with all the onsen, and the hotel has his own onsen which is great! The staff is super friendly and the even offer the shuttle to go to the snow monkey park!

Truly kind and attentive hospitality, with a staff that stands out for their inclusiveness and care. The property shows signs of age, but this is precisely what gives it its authentic charm. Spacious rooms and a public area with an outdoor hot tub are simply stunning. Perfect for a night or two in the area.

We stayed one night in Nagano and it was the best experience. They met us at the train station (we didn't know this!) and took us to the hotel. The reception staff was very welcoming; Kaneko explained everything very well and answered all our questions. We booked a room with a private onsen, and it was excellent. The dinner and breakfast were superb and very complete (in true Japanese style). The next day, they took us to the entrance of the monkey park and then picked us up to take us back to the train station (they had all the schedules planned out).

The stay was amazing. Staff was very helpful, explained everything in English, and the hotel’s driver even took us from the train station and to the snow monkeys park. The room with the private onsen was one of the best experiences we had in Japan. I definitely recommend staying at this place.

I used it for a day trip. The fee was 500 yen. It was a pretty good bath. The water was clear, and the open-air bath smelled like hot spring eggs. The inside was odorless.

We have only just arrived but are already so impressed! We arrived into Yudanaka late around 8pm and Kaneko was right there at the station with a warm welcome ready to shuttle us to the hotel and even offered to take our friends who were staying at a nearby ryokan. Dinner was a delicious shabu shabu set and the room is very spacious.

This is the ideal inn for recovering from skiing. The hot indoor bath and open-air bath with hot spring mineral deposits will warm you to the core. The rooms are Japanese-style and relaxing, and the meals are varied and adequate in both quantity and quality. The staff are friendly, and the overall stay was comfortable.

The shuttle bus driver waiting at the station was very friendly and took care of our bags. Arriving at the hotel, the staff greeted us very warmly and quickly got us into our rooms. The superior room was very beautiful and had a fantastic view of the snowy mountains, and the outdoor onsen with the snow coming down and around it was gorgeous and extremely relaxing. We didnt do the meals, but it smelled so good that next time we're definitely including meals in our stay. In the morning, we took their provided shuttle to the snow monkey park and enjoyed ourselves there before we came back. The whole area was very walkable and we loved every minute being there. Only complaint I have is that there is no conditioner in the men's onsen showers. We fully intend on staying here again!

It may be unavoidable since it's a tourist area, but I felt it was a bit pricey. The room was a typical old Japanese-style room. The hot spring was good (I went in at 6pm and 6am, but there was no one there so I was able to relax). The breakfast was average. There were a lot of foreign tourists and some were noisy, but it quieted down late at night so I didn't have any particular issues during my stay. There was no explanation in advance, but apparently there is a shuttle from Yudanaka Station if you're coming by train. I don't think it's far to walk, but it's a good idea to check in advance if you need one.
