Mash Café & Bed NAGANO

I stayed in a dormitory for two nights. In short, it was very good. Good points: - Excellent access from Nagano Station - Safe due to the presence of a female-only dormitory - Clean dormitory - Thorough explanation during check-in - Space to eat food brought in by guests Points to note: - Almost no amenities are provided, so you need to purchase them or bring them from home. However, they are free if you bring them, so I highly recommend bringing them. When I stayed, it was a weekday and very quiet. There's a SEIYU supermarket right next door, and I would definitely stay there again when I visit Nagano.

I stayed at this accommodation for two nights. It's located near Nagano train station and was easy to reach. Check-in was smooth, and the staff were very helpful. Everything was also explained in English. I had a capsule in the women's dormitory. The capsule is quite spacious and includes a clothes hanger, light, storage space, and power outlets. The bed was comfortable, and I didn't feel cramped. There's a microwave and a washing machine. In the evenings, guests could use the café and enjoy complimentary drinks, which was a nice touch. During peak times, the toilets and showers weren't always perfectly clean. Unfortunately, I also had trouble sleeping because, despite the efforts of other guests, it was too noisy for me. However, for the price, it's perfectly acceptable.

There are various shops nearby, including Seiyu next door and Apina in front, so it's easy to find if you use Seiyu as a landmark. Check-in is at 4 PM, but sometimes you can check in earlier. The bathroom is shared and there is a shower room. Last order for food is at 9 PM. Pizza is recommended. Food takes a while to arrive, so it's best to order early. Craft beer is served without snacks. After last order, you're told to go to Seiyu. From 10 PM to 10 AM, guests receive free drinks. The service ends when the glasses run out, but you can drink there if you bring your own.

I stayed at the accommodation for three days and slept in a mixed dormitory. Check-in was smooth, and even though the staff's English was a bit halting, everyone went out of their way to ensure a smooth check-in and a pleasant stay. The staff and service really impressed me 😊👌✨. The location is also excellent, as it's just a 5-minute walk from the train station and only 2 minutes from the nearest convenience store. There are also many restaurants nearby. The bed was very comfortable, and there was a power outlet and a USB port available. Even if you don't have space to lock away a backpack or similar items, there's a small locker where you can store valuables. Suitcases and large backpacks can easily be stored under the bed. Plus, there are free drinks from 10 pm to midnight.

The bed and sheets were clean and there were no particular problems. The shower room had body soap, shampoo, and conditioner. Most of the guests were foreigners. However, there were no disruptive behaviors, and I had a normal stay.

This was one of the top three capsule hotels I stayed at in the Shinshu area. The biggest advantages are its location just a 5-minute walk from Nagano Station, its position on a main road, the sense of security provided by the cafe and restaurant on the ground floor, and the spacious capsules and personal lockers. The downsides are that, being on a main road, you can hear car noise frequently. Also, the floor is exposed to foot traffic rather than the capsule, and it is quite a distance from the restrooms. While I was there, there was an incident at 6 AM where a Japanese person made a phone call in the capsule area, causing inconvenience. Another Japanese resident became furious and intervened to stop them. I felt that the management was a bit lax and lacking. However, even considering these drawbacks, the facilities are clean, the location is great, and the price is affordable, so I highly recommend it.

The common areas are very comfortable, as are the beds. The lockers are metal and made noise when used. I would stay again; I felt very comfortable.

We stayed at Mash Bed during peak season, as it was the only option available. We booked a private room, and overall, the experience was average. The room itself was okay at first glance, but cleanliness could definitely be improved. We noticed that the carpeted floor didn’t seem to be thoroughly cleaned, as there was a pair of shoes left under the bed from a previous guest. After checking out, we appreciated that they allowed us to leave our luggage for a few hours. However, when we returned, we were hoping to sit and rest briefly in the empty lobby while waiting but were asked to leave. It felt a bit unwelcoming, especially after staying there. Overall, it works if you’re in a pinch, but expectations should be managed in terms of comfort, cleanliness, and hospitality.

Room - basic ameneties, cramped t&b (but tolerable). Location - reasonably close to Nagano Station. Service - NON EXISTENT. We checked out today, left our luggage for a bit. When we returned to get our luggages we planned to sit a bit and were considering to order something to drink. The server came and asked us if we already checked out - we said yes we did this morning, and she told us we cannot sit in their shop if we will not order - low key ‘go away’ you’re no longer our customers! We stepped out right away as we don’t really appreciate being treated like that. I would have given a good rating but the service is literally non-existent in our case.
